We didn't go to see them closely, but across the river they look grand. The view from the side of the road is great, but even better from the citadel

just across the bridge from the citadel. An imposing rock with a flag at the summit. Watch the climbers in the cleft as they climb using ropes. It is the starting point for hikes too

Situated opposite the Citadel we stopped here and spent a good hour wandering through the streets and lanes. The setting was lovely and very historic and it was interesting to see

View is the best from the Citadel. you can drive the car till the parking on the top in front of the cemetery, it was not a paid one. Citadel entrance is a walking distance of five minutes on foot. The Citadel offers great views of the countryside and of the lower alps. The view is the best from the flag post at the topmost alter. The Citadel has interesting remnants and expect an easy one hour and half to two should you want to do with easy pauses.

Post your return to the car park drive across to the high ground for better views of the Citadel as well continue downtown in the city next to the riverside and Avenue du Gand for a viewpoint wherein you see the Citadel and the Rocher de la Baume in one sight.

Great stop while doing the Napoleon Route to Nice. We stopped at the parking lot above the river just off D4085 and captured some amazing photos (which I swear are not photoshopped!) I think we caught the sun just right and the right time of the year with sediment run off into the river. The water was a brilliant turquoise blue, much like you see in the Canadian Rockies lakes from glacial silt runoff. Just beautiful!

Hello, I have just consulted the opinions given again about the sculptures of Abbé Fouré, sculptor of the rocks of Rothéneuf, nothing has changed, access is still paying although it is located on the public domain, complacency of the municipality of St Malo? What if further actions to maintain the city were carried out? Nothing of the sort . An association for the liberalization of the city exists, but for the moment it is still under the control of an individual and for his sole benefit that entry fees go. A scandal……let’s face it.
