My wife and I stayed two nights with our friends in their condo. It has been many years since I had last been to Silverstar, and I must say I was impressed. While, we were here during the summer, we could tell, how this resort was well suited for winter skiing and other winter activities. We had a chance to ride the gondola, and the view from above was impressive. Personally I was surprised how well developed Silverstar was, yet it remains to be smaller than other resorts.

What sets this resort apart from others, was the close proximity to all the services in Vernon.

Highly recommend this resort.

The tree lined runs are fabulous! Great grooming and trail variety. Excellent facilities and amenities. More enjoyable than Sun Peaks!

The admin staff have been nothing but rude, condescending and out right ignorant to the fact they need to help the guests in which they seem to never be able to perform their responsibilities coherently. There is mixed messages coming from admin, people who work here and then the emails that are supposed to provide all the information needed to enjoy this absolute garbage dump of a place. Its clear that management has dropped the ball and it is rolling around this place inundating innocent paying guests with the a barrage of simple communications problems between all their operating arms on this ski hill. This is absolutely the worst ran place in all of the Canadian winter resorts and I have been to them all. This is not a vacation this is a childishly run place with incompetent staff all over who know absolutely NOTHING about the place they work, NEVER COMING BACK

Great xc skiing! Conditions were superb. Grooming was excellent and views were spectacular. SS offers a good diversity of trails. A number of the elevated (upper) runs offer windy descents crossing alpine trails and can be accessed either by climbing or taking the Gondola. The lower trails also offer many good options.

Make sure to grab a coffee and goodies at Bugaboos, a very reasonably priced establishment with tasty merchandise.

We rented a condo at Silver Star Mountain for a week and very much enjoyed it. It's a wonderful family hill with plenty to do for everyone.
We will definitely return ! Thanks to Lindsay of Silver Star Stays for the great accommodation and information.

It seems this place needed a bit of a loving review after there haven’t been many of late... well here it is! I absolutely enjoyed my time here. 3 days of alpine skiing with fantastically groomed and quite wide runs. We are intermediate to advanced skiers and enjoyed every minute! The quality of the high performance rentals was great- I think my boots were brand new. The staff at the rentals really took the time to suit the skis to you.

Excellent snow conditions and just great all-around skiing! We spent one day at the resort Nordic skiing which was also picturesque. There’s also skating and tubing available. I highly, highly recommend this resort for those wanting a self-contained holiday with excellent skiing for a 4-6 day break.

Oh, and it was rather pretty, too!

I have new felt so screwed by a ski hill! At the moment I wouldn't even give this place one star! I have skied around the world, as I used to be a ski racer, career coach and ski instructor. Unfortunately I am far from the only one who feels this way at Silverstar at the moment. There are many of us in my situation. My family of four have been season pass holders since I moved to Vernon several years ago. We were actually even considering purchasing property at Silverstar until the pandemic hit. This year I have been forced to pay the same price for a pass that I CAN'T USE most of the time my children are not in school and I have no other option! I spoke to the manager of ticketing and sales about it yesterday, and was offered my money back to walk away, which means walking away from skiing. This person claimed to share my passion for skiing, but no one who shares my passion for this sport would suggest anyone, let alone a loyal season pass holder and passionate skier, should walk away from the sport. This person also said they were truly "sorry for my situation." I would like to point out Silverstar created this situation (for me and many, many others) by limiting the number of seasons passes, arbitrarily without warning, before the earlybird price ending date had even arrived! I don't want the empty words of an apology! I want Silverstar to FIX this situation, either by removing the ridiculous limits on our "limited" passes we paid the SAME PRICE FOR or figuring out how to COMPENSATE us accordingly at the end of the season for the resulting LESSER PRODUCT they have forced apon us. I also want everyone thinking of spending money at Silverstar, to know how people like me are being taken advantage of at the moment. Apparently Silverstar has no intention of doing anything other than saying, "sorry" we're going to take advantage of you at the moment, don't like it walk away. I ask all of you, when booking your trips, holidays and ski days in the future, as this pandemic ends, do you really want to spend your money in a place that treats their passionate, loyal season pass holders the way Silverstar has treated so many of us? Probably many of you are pass holders elsewhere. How would you like to be treated this way? As the pandemic ends, you people in the skiing world will have options for where you spend your money. I suggest you consider somewhere that doesn't take advantage of their loyal, local pass holders. I understand the pandemic is difficult for everyone but solutions to pandemic problems do not need to involve taking advantage of eachother!

I had been excited to check out SilverStar’s mountain biking trails for a while and was extremely disappointed when I finally had the chance. What a let-down, especially when it touts it’s own achievements so highly. I’ve been on locally maintained trails that are in better condition and not had to pay to ride them. The braking bumps were really bad on every single trail except the pro lines. The trails looked like nobody has been up-keeping them at all, let alone for a bike park. Waste of money. I’d rather donate to locally maintained trails every day of the week. Not to mention the jump lines... if you can even call them that...I’d have enough speed to barely clear a jump and then get catapulted 10ft past the transition a second later on the next. It was the most poorly designed “progression park” I can imagine. We maybe made 6-7 lifts up for the day as it was so crowded that the lift line extended to the bottom of the runs. I would be embarrassed to have such an arrogantly written website if my mountain was in this shape. 1 extra star for the staff, who were all fantastic.

Recently purchased by a crappy US company called POWDR. They closed the resort without notice on the first day of spring break. Refused to provide any compensation for the 3 weeks lost on our passes. Ordered all staff off of the mountain within the week while misleading the public that they intended to reopen after 1 week. I wouldnt risk booking a vacation here to have POWDR close and not provide compensation. Seriously book with SunPeaks or BigWhite, they value their customers and treat them better than SilverStar does.

Thanks for your feedback. Our closure due to the global pandemic was abrupt and unfortunate, however the safety of our guests and staff is of utmost important to us. Because of our swift actions we were able to get our staff and guests home to their families safely with no incidents and ahead of airports and borders closing. We understand that some guests felt our actions were unnecessary, however we felt given the circumstances, putting everyone's health and safety first was the right decision. We have issued vouchers to all passholders and POW passholders. If you haven't received yours please contact us at tickets@skisilverstar.com. If you want to share more about your experience or speak to someone directly, please contact us at social@skisilverstar.com.
