Evolution Kiteboarding team's primary goals are to help reduce the frustration level of learning kiteboarding and to accelerate the learning curve. All of EK's kiteboarding lessons offer one-on-one instruction for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. This formula, which has proven extremely successful, allows instructors to tailor each kiteboarding lesson to individual learning rates and needs. As a result, EK students become independent kiteboarders more quickly and safely. EK distinguishes itself from other kiteboarding schools in La Ventana by having a flexible team. We understand that this is your vacation, we are here to work around your travel plans. Just let us know what you need from gear to lessons to supervision and we will provide you with the most professional and accommodating service in Baja. Excellent experience for both my son and myself. My son is an advanced kiteboarder who get very good instruction on jumping. I am a beginner and I received excellent (and very patient) instruction on kite flying basics and safety. The team was cheerful, enthusiastic and expert - also low key.
The equipment was in good condition and the setting ideal for instruction. There are waves close to shore but not a problem getting out and the breeze was solid all 3 days.

Really solid kiteboarding school! Jayeson (one of the owners) is very communicative for scheduling and very genuine about what is/isn’t necessary. Example - another kite school tried to sell us jet-ski assist classes when a jet ski might not have been needed, but Jayeson was flexible and allowed us to decide as we went along each day.
Our instructors (Spencer and Rodrigo) are both very experienced on the water and have a ton of knowledge. The assisted down-winder ride, during which you do a long down-wind ride with the instructor nearby, was an absolute blast.

Overall amazing experience, great instructors.
Had my 12 year old boy for 4 lessons, was never kiting before, he loved it and feel confident on the water.
Instructors were all great, special shout out to Nico!
Jayeson has a great thing going and hope to see his business grow in la Ventana.
Super friendly service.
Will recommend them a thousand times over!!

I arrived for my kite surf lesson in La Ventana BCS on time and waited for the owner/instructor who failed to show up for the reserved lesson. He then refused to refund my $170 deposit. My advice is to stay away from this operation. There are many more options in La Ventana for kite surf instruction.

Highly recommend Evolution kiteboarding if you're looking to learn the sport in La Ventana. My instructor Ruben did a great job of tailoring the lessons to my abilities so that I was able to progress as quickly as possible without feeling overwhelmed or unsafe. Jayeson was also super friendly and responsive and helped make all aspects of my trip go more smoothly. There are a lot of great schools to choose from at this awesome kiteboarding location and you won't be disappointed if you go with these guys.

Didn’t take lessons, just rented equipment.
The owner and his wife and also the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful!
BUT:
I personally think renting costs are quite expensive compared to the rather old equipment and also they don’t have a lot of equipment. Sometimes they didn’t have the kite size or the harness I needed.
Would rather go to baja Joes next time as they have a lot of brand new equipment.

Thanks for renting from us! Im not sure what you mean by old equipment though since we only have current year equipment. In February 2020 there’s nothing newer than 2020 gear ;)
However we do prioritize lessons over rentals to ensure our student has the best learning experience possible

I spent 10 days in la Ventana learning to kite board, I wish I’d run into this group from the outset. I started my lessons with the company next door, similar name, but definitely a different kind of experience...I can only describe it as transactional. However, after some research, I decided to switch to Evolution, Jayeson & Gonzo definitely had much more of a communal vibe and a transaction that went far beyond lessons alone.
Spending time there at their beach office, outside of lessons (but also before and after them) they spent ample time explaining much of the theory. They’re whole attitude towards the educational side and community, was like working with a small business who had a lot of passion and a lot of heart behind what they do. Sometimes companies lose that touch, luckily they’ve been around Ventana for many years, and haven’t lost the touch. Keep on flying...see y’all next time!

For sure it's true! A good teacher is worthy!! In la Ventana I highly recommend Jayson , the experience is important but also to have the time to joke and have fun is as well super necessary when learning! Kitesurfing is a bit of work to begin but they really make it quite easy!

This was my first trip to La Ventana, and I used TripAdvisor to try and hone in on a kiteboarding school before my trip. I contact a few of the options and Jayeson was the fastest to get back to me. He's very responsive and gave extensive advice on all things from where to stay to how to get around, and really any planning details you’d need to sort out before your visit. He was a 1-stop shop that let me get all the planning out of the way with his recommendations, and they were all fabulous tips. Special shoutout to the 1st choice place he recommended to stay which were the bungalows in the El Sargento campground; if you’re doing lessons with Evolution, not only are they awesome little private casitas with all the right amenities, but they’re also situated right where Jayeson sets up on the beach so you can go right down when it’s lesson time.
I actually ended up having Issa as my instructor. Issa was fabulous. She was very hands-on, setting up the equipment for me the first day when we were in more of a rush to get onto the water, down to go demo a self-rescue routine with me out in the water, and we used the 2-way walkie-talkie helmets for the rest. (Not the fault of Evolution but the 2-way radio helmets stopped working on the second day, hopefully they can get those working again cause they're super efficient having the instructor's voice with you all the time). By the 2nd day (5th lesson total in my 'kiting career') I’d gotten the basics enough to be sufficient out in the water and just come back in to the beach every now and again to have an in-person powwow about adjustments. That and hand signals from the beach that Issa had made sure to think ahead and go over with me in case the radios failed were enough. All in all even with the reduced communication I thought I got great nonstop experience and learning out there during the lesson, and felt like there wasn’t a single wasted moment, and it made the lessons feel very valuable.
And to boot, Jayeson and Issa are just fun people to be around and they provide a super chill vibe which lets you still remind yourself you’re on vacation. I'm going to hook up with them again for sure on my next trip down.

We came to Ventana with a group of 10, 5 of us totally new to kiting. The evolution guys were great. They were totally happy going with the flow of our group, not requiring up front planning and payment etc. They came to our rental house which was beachfront and brought all the teaching gear so our crew could kite right in front of our house instead of getting in a car. That made it really fun, we all ended up having lunch and beers together each day. Jayeson and Jesus were super helpful, great teachers and really matched the intensity of each student. They also organized a really fun down-winder for the entire group, and gave the more experienced kiters tips and help on tricks here and there without charging for lessons. A great group of teachers! Can't recommend highly enough.
