    Family night away
Overall, we enjoyed our overnight stay at Kryal Castle. Positives: Friendly and passionate staff. Great playground and enjoyed roaming grounds after hours. Room was clean and sufficient. Arena shows were impressive. Accommodation/ admission price was reasonable. Negatives: Only thing we didn't like was the numerous Satanic symbols in shops. If you want to maintain a historic period with accuracy. Here is a suggestion. Add the Cross ✝️ to the wedding chapel to begin. Christianity was very relevant during that period. Perhaps have an actor dress as a monk who can express the challenges of monastery life during the dark ages. Recommend a visit with families. 👍

    Amazing experience
We stayed for 1 night in the castle and whilst it was during the week and not open we still had the best time. Infact we were able to walk the grounds day and during the night without anyone else there. It was the best

Worst place I have ever stayed - would give zero if I could. The staff were OK and the Adventure park was good. The room we booked for 1 adult and 2 kids was so small and cramped. No space to hang a coat, no space to put the suitcases, no space in the bathroom to even put your toiletries and the glued towel rack fell on my daughter hurting her. No linen cabinet and no extra linen. There is a microwave, cutlery etc but no space to eat. The walls are paper thin and we were up the whole night because of the people in the adjacent room. Why would you let out a room that is not fit for purpose and charge money for it? This room came up as recommended when I put in the number of people but would have been happy to pay for a better room for better quality. The Wifi didn’t work at all and we were told that there was something wrong with our devices, that’s 4 iPhones, one MS laptop and one iPad, something wrong with all of them...never experienced that before. Absolutely disgusted at being ripped off like this and ruining our day. Have stayed here years ago and enjoyed the experience but won’t be going back. I’m posting this review so that people can be careful about the room they book and want to spare more pain for other families

I purchased the Royal Family ticket ($295) for my son’s family of three - even though it can be a family of 6.
They had the most amazing day. Apart from dressing up as “royalty” (usually $40pp to dress up) they had priority entry into everything with their own personal jester from 2pm until 6:30pm. What you may not be aware of in the ticket info is that drinks were included as well as either lunch or dinner. The jousting show; the dragons; the dungeons; firing arrows with bows; the archery “dodge ball” (siege) etc. My nearly 6 year old grand son (as well as his parents) has a terrific experience!

Not overly impressed. Wouldn’t return.
Staff are pretty ordinary with their service and the place could do with a reno.
Knight in armour performance isn’t untill 7pm and only goes for 10-15mins and when there are only very minimal people left in grounds.
The whole entry process was pretty slow aswell even with prepaid tickets.

Stayed here for two nights in King spa room and would stay again. King size bed with quality bed linen - huge soft fluffy bath sheets. Breakfast provided - a substantial and healthy breakfast box. Also, toaster and microwave provided. Price included admission to Theme Park. Wasn't impressed that a $50 surcharge applies to Friday and Sunday nights. Would suggest taking light luggage as carpark some distance from accommodation and requires carrying up steps to the main entrance.

Went to this with my two adult children on a Friday night. Took the form of a “hunt the clues” around the castle, in the dark, while avoiding the zombies lurching around. The goal was to find how to rid the castle of the zombies, of course. It was really good fun! Just a bit scary, detective work not too challenging, and the cast worked hard to make sure we all won out in the end.
Not suitable for children, and the nature of the castle (stairs, pavement steps, poor lighting, uneven cobblestones) would preclude anyone with significant mobility disabilities from participating.
I scored a 5/5 for the cast and acting and the story, but there were just a few things which could be improved - the audio introduction was of mediocre sound quality. Maybe a better amp and better speakers? And the pre-event “canapés” did not deserve such a dignified title. We got plain old party pies, mini sausage rolls, and a pastry with cheese and spinach. One of each. It was a 5.30pm start and the “ canapés” were not going to be a substitute for a meal. Pack some chocolate bars! And a good torch.
I’d do this one again. A great evening.

Returned to Kryal for the first time since the early 2000's when it was good. From the amazing media images I was genuinely looking forward to it and was feeling generous and open minded when I arrived. But the place does not deserve your money unless you are a keen gamer or larper. It's not medieval or a museum, so many of the "information signs" are incorrect or misleading. It's a fantasy theme park and feels like you're walking through a game of Spyro/Coca-Cola Eat Street. Every shop looked and smelled like a $2 shop and none of the "trades" are authentic lost trades. For the same money you can get into Sovereign Hill, Wildlife Park, Centre for Rare Trades and Lost arts or go to Lake Wendouree playground for free and actually be amazed and have a good time. They charge a fortune for entry and every activity within and it's such a rort. It's an embarrassment to the city.

My husband and I took our three girls to Kryal Castle in October as we were down on the south border of NSW. Last time I attended Kryal Castle it was an amazing, magical and surreal experience. With the fur bedding and added extras you could really feel the way in which Kings and Queens could have lived.
So I wanted to take my girls and show them the fantasy world of Kings and Queens!
Unfortunately our holiday their was marred by a leaking roof (we were changed rooms due to a leaking roof; the room we were put in was poorly treated but it was passable, no fur or fantasy insight!! We were hopeful for our other room, as we paid for a family room but an expensive room hoping for the girls to have a real treat!! How wrong we were!!
The Big 4 has taken over since our last visit and the heart of the place is gone. No fur bedding, no fantasy or anything besides the bare basics!! Not to mention the ceiling in our bathroom was cracked and in need of repair and the bathroom was full of mould.
I would have asked to be moved but we didn't shower until late at night as we dropped off our bags and headed out.
When I tried to make a complaint the next day, the lady in the reception at the Big 4 basically told me to email them. She wasn't equipt to deal with the problem or complaint Obviously.
We also found when we woke, our vehicle broken into. Someone had smashed our car window, but Kryal Castle employees couldn't even offer a voucher or offer of assistance!! We had a 12 hour drive home with a broken window.
Oh and when I did send an email of complaint. No responded!!

Never visited before so travelling through we stayed overnight on a Friday night. Booked in and told we were free to wander around the most of the grounds and explore. The room was ok. The bed really comfortable and the spa big enough for two. Only issue was we switched the fridge off because it was so noisy. Next morning free entry to the castle. We wandered around checking out the quirky little shops. Had a lot of fun with the axe throwing and watched the very funny ‘magician’ well worth a look.

The worst experience.ever would not recommend. Overpriced. Horrible rooms. Will never ever come back again. Room service consists of clean towels being dumped on your unmade bed. Fix your own bed clean your own room. Same as self check out in a supermarket. I don’t get paid to do that Yet we paid top dollar to stay. Stuffy dirty rooms. Hated every minute. Sitting here waiting to go home can’t wait. By the way. Complaints fell on deaf ears. Bring your own soap. But you’ll have no where to put it no shelves. Shower. Best you don’t bother few drips of water. Disgusting
