There is something for everyone, The step back in time is great, the sweet shop takes you back to the excitement you felt deciding which quarter of sweets you were going to choose on pocket money day..The Co-Op and other shops bring back lovely memories of... Returned to beamish once again had excellent sandwich in cafe and then explored the mine head. Plenty to see and do and good value for money if you go more than once. Will go again in spring to see what has been added.

Travel back in time in an open air museum. Hear the stories from the people who live in the mining village and shop in the olde worlde sweet shop. Travel on the trams or steam train. A great day out.

Don't , whatever you do , think that you'll see all of this and its contents in one day , unless you're road runner . Take your time , wallow , enquire , feel , taste ( especially the fish and chips ) . The staff are as helpful as possible given that they are on the run and everything... More

This place is fantastic we stayed over night as the village is huge you need two days to get around and take it all in, as the tickets last for 12 months this is a brilliant way to spend your weekend. If you have Children they will love it along with grandparents. The staff are brilliant and stay in character... More

We went to Beamish museum to join in with Christmas celebrations having enjoyed a trip there earlier in the year. What a let down. The only decorations were a bit of holly tied with a red ribbon around the lampposts, some fake snow near Santas grotty grotto and 5 stalls selling very little in the bazaar. It took 20 minutes... Absolutely wonderful place. Lovely little gem of a place with loads going on for families. The toilet facilities are great and loads of them around. The disabled facilities are great also. The Old fashioned busses and trams to ferry people around to different destinations are brilliant. The Confection shop and bakery are a must visit, located in the old town.... More

Today, I visited Beamish with family. We had a lovely day - all staff encountered were courteous and friendly. However, I unfortunately had a very nasty fall on the ice rink - hurting myself considerably. The staff could not have done more for me - they acted quickly and ensured my safety. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank... More

Wow wow wow it's been on my to do list for years and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the programme how we used to live as a child and it reminded me of that. It is a great day out for all ages and abilities. If you can't walk far there are trams and buses if you want to stretch... More
