Fantastic church with lots of history since the 1200's. The "Bamberg Horseman" statue is inside, along with tombs of Holy Roman Emperor Henry II.

We took a guided tour of this historic building. The stories that were told, including the burying of a pope here, as well as the horseman, were very interesting. The restoration process has been extensive and is ongoing.

Not only is the cathedral spectacularly beautiful, outside and inside, but it contains superb works of art, most notably the famous Bamberger Reiter and the great tomb carved by Tilman Riemenschneider. An added bonus is the view over Bamberg. This is a must-visit building.

There are two reasons why you should visit the church; firstly the views of Bamberg from the church are amazing, and secondly, the church has some very special crypts, including one of a pope. If you are in Bamberg, this is a must visit.

Hi, We visited this year and I see from the plan that the Sacrament Chapel is marked number 13 and is on the left hand side entering from Adam's Portal just before The Chapel of the Nail. Hope this helps.
