We drove up and parked right outside the Gate. Nice castle overlooking Bamberg. If we were there earlier maybe the restaurant or shops would have been open. Good views.

I made the 45 minute walk on a warm sunny winter day. It takes you into another world and more spectacular views. I met couple who took a taxi if walking is an issue. Another treasure of the area.

I agree with Team DC. It isn't a difficult walk but it is time consuming.
