Be sensible - time your visit
Nov. 2018 • Solo
This is a fairly standard southern-German pool and sauna complex, all in one building. The main pool area is downstairs, and the saunas - of which there are maybe half a dozen in the mixed area, plus a "ladies sauna" area with an unknown number of saunas - are upstairs. There's a couple of saunas outside that are also accessed from the second level. I think there's also a small outside pool area, but I spent most of my visits in the Sauna so I can't say.

I was very impressed and pleased by my visits. I used the Oberstaufen Plus card and had free entry. Even so I would have been happy to pay. This facility is comparable to many others in the area that charge 15+ euros for 3 hours, or 25 for the day.

Yes, it's a bit noisy and a bit busy, but not badly so if you time your visit. Its not difficult to imagine when it's going to be busy. The pool will be busy if the weather is bad during the summer, or after skiing, or during the day generally. The pool will be busier during high season (May to September) and January to March. The sauna area will be similar, but busier in the evenings - especially after 19:00 when the youngsters are supposed to not come in any more, and when the wrinklies surface. So, if you want a quiet trip through the sauna, try that gap from 16:00 to 19:00.

Incidentally, the noisiest visitors are often the older generation who think that its OK to whisper loudly to each other in the sauna. The kids were much better behaved.

Yes, the changing area is a bit cramped and the tiles on the floor look a bit grotty, and some of the showers have probably not worked for years, but apparently there's a renovation planned. Take flip flops and a couple of towels and a book and you'll be fine. And I saw cleaning going on while I was there, and lots of staff wandering round. There's not much attempt to uphold any rules as far as I could see, but some of that is on you - if you see something you don't like, you should say something.

Thoroughly recommended.

went during our vaccation in the area also for a swimm
the Aquaria certainly has seen their best days, but having said this - they have a good mix of activities througgout all / most age breaks - we went ther with kids from 4 - 9.
even the adults had their fun.
place is clean, you can use the cafeteria with no cash, anything you buy will be deducted from your token and you pay when you leave. plenty of parking for the car. not overcrowded (we were there early september) and also too cold to enjoy the outdoor area

Throws into one place all the great features pools should have.

There is the normal pool for length swimming which leads into the loop pool that has a lazy river type current. It surrounds the diving pool for the 3 & 5m diving boards. The lazy river leads to the heated outside pool that has a large water fall and spa pools along most of the edge. There is an intermediate kids pool inside and pools with slides for babies and toddlers outside and in. Plus there is a flume.

There are heaps of loungers inside and out.

There is a sauna and solarium upstairs but we never went.

All this was free with the Oberstaufen card.

You could easily spend the whole day there and there is a cafe.

Good for swimming and sauna
Jul. 2017 • Solo
Aditional to the large sauna area there is a a fun slide and diving towers and even a 25meter pool for swimming which is usually not too crowded (and there is one seperate lane for sportswimming). The water in the swimmers pool is a bit warm for sports though...

Second time around still enjoyable
May 2017 • Family
Although this time we choose to visit 1st of May there were lots of guests. Still doable. First time we visited in 2015 was during the week with far less guests. We like the combination of swimming pool and sauna. For Dutch standards this is a really well organized and clean environment. Nice glide. And my son loves the jumping tower. Family 2h entrance at €32.

Good rainy day activity
Jul. 2016 • Family
We went here during our summer holiday on a rainy day. There is a pool for swimming lengths, a toddler pool with mini slide, a water slide, two diving boards, a small lazy river, a bubble pool, an outdoor toddler pool, outdoor bubble pool, outdoor swimming pool and a sauna complex. Sauna is strictly naked,.as is usual in Germany.

Changing rooms are ok- could be cleaner but certainly not unhygienic.

Don't spend too long in the changing room or you'll have to pay extra to get out! You pay for a session- say two hours- but that's not the time in the water, that's the total time in the complex.

We found this to be good value for the family. And the views from the outdoor bubble pool are fantastic!

Great in any weather, but can be quite busy on wet days
Aug. 2015
We visited on a wet day as an escape from the rain and it was evident that lots of people had the same idea. The car parks onsite were very busy and we decided to find somewhere else nearby to park and walk for a few minutes.

Once we were in though, it was busy but not overcrowded. There are numerous indoor and outdoor pools - some with jacuzzis, a very fun slide, diving boards, saunas and a café. The saunas are a nude affair, so take a towel into the pool area if you intend to use them.

As seems traditional for many tourist attractions in Germany, the entrance and locker system is confusing for a first-timer and not explained whatsoever by the staff. You get a token, which you use to enter and then insert into a key for your locker. It's also not obvious that you can if you so wish take towels, money, phones etc. into the pool area, where there are further lockers and reclining chairs.

There are other therme/spas in the area that are more... relaxed... but Aquaria is good fun for any age and caters well to disabled customers. It feels safe and friendly and at €13-ish for 2 hours is pretty good value as well.
