The outside looks impressive and whets the appetite for good things when you go inside , however apart from the first floor wall paintings , which are magnificent, the rest was a bit disappointing , being old ruins of the place. Was expecting so much more given the nature of it

The last of the former regal palaces of the medieval German emperors, interesting to see the wall paintings showing important parts of the German history.

This palace is astonishing when you look up to it from the parking place. Get closer and see how fine this building is and I really recommend you to visit inside. Here you find great wall carpets and paintings and a fine view over Goslar.

My only advice to those who come here: get your audioguide. It's available in English and German. One can download an app to their smartphone or rent a device for about 2-2.5 EUR at their desk. It's a must here. Enjoy your walk and you won't be disappointed.
