Very interesting-stopped two school-aged kids in their tracks with the power of one exhibit

Being basically an english speaker make sure you have Google Translator on your smart phone, that is what we did, you will get the full story that way. Only a few of the signs are in english. A very good very clean WW1 museum. Being a non-German we typically only get one perspective of any point in history. This museum... More

We didn't go to the main museum but crossed the river to the WW1 museum at Reduit Tilly. Quite simply an excellent hour and a half. True it is all in German but it's very visual and approaches the subject from many different angles: technology, culture, strategy etc. Well worth a detour from Munich and interesting to experience the subject... Traveled to Ingolstadt specifically to see this museum. Its displays are definitely dated and only in German. No attempt to provide English, French, etc. Needs a serious overhaul to add languages and technology.

This is an excellent military museum. However, German is used throughout though this for the history lover will not be a problem as the visual displays are very easily understood; though a short guide in English would obviously be very welcome. Their Great War exhibition is one of the best I have ever seen.

I thought the museum was nice to learn how the military of Bavaria evolved over time. Young children were interested but only for 30 minutes or so.

Well organized and run museum with a very good collection of artifacts. In October 2015 the special exhibit was on Napoleon and Bavaria. Interesting way to learn about the complicated history of the period. Many original items that are rarely seen were on display. Museum has historically accurate uniforms, back packs, etc that people could try on to get sense... More

I have never stopped here, had not done any research into what the museum had. Have driven by the city many times over the years. I guess I should have looked into this museum before. I thought I had seen just about every weapon fielded by the German army in person or via photo. This place gave me more than... More
