We could only ride to the middle station but enjoyed the views. Once the upper station is open I can imagine it will be beautiful. I do think the price is kind of steep at €18 per adult for a five minute ride. Once you’re...More

The Jennerbahn is still under construction, but the middle station is operating. Hint for a day trip: If necessary use the parking area, perhaps save some money via guest card and buy a ticket one way to the middle station. Take hiking path to “Königsbachalm”...More

I took two of my kids up the Jennerbahn (15 and 11). It was after we had gone to Konigsee. There was a festival in Berchtesgaden, and so the rides up were free (with voluntary donations) and there was no line to go up or...More

We came to Berchtesgaden for a beautiful day of hiking. The Jennerbahn was helpful to cut down the trip. Unfortunately the ticket counter at the top was not open when needed (2:30 PM) which was not appreciated. After an arduous trek it would have been...More

The cable car and chair lift are closed for major renovations so they are closed for many months. I also saw no notice anywhere until we drove from Salzburg 😢

The Jennerbahn is being rebuilt and is not in operation. However, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area to make up for this.

Thanks for the response. Too bad! We will be in Schonau am Konigssee in September 2017. I was really looking forward to the beautiful views from on top. Do you know of any other cable cars in the area?
