This is one of my favorite church. It is right next to the train station. It is close from 12-2 so plan accordingly. The Altar, the Rood, the Frescos. I love it!

Church of Our Lady or the Red Church at Oberwesel is a Gothic masterpiece re-built around 1308. It is next to the train station and have a wonderful view over the river. The Golden alter inside is pretty too. Highly recommended.

This building was completely destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt in 1955. It is stunning with some great stained glass windows. You would never know it is not original.

Of all the places I visited in my three weeks in Germany, this church was the biggest surprise. This was my 4th visit to the area and my first time in the church. It is conveniently located near the train station. The entrance is a little confusing, since it is on the side of the church. The altar is spectacular and the rood is an unusual feature. Great artwork. I especially liked a fresco that looked very similar to the face of Christ on the Shroud of Turin.

The church is old, many paintings (frescoes, perhaps) on walls and pillars. Stone color is unique as are the altar pieces. Well worth a stop.
