Germany in general is famous with castles. This one is really special. It is build in the hillside above the biggest lake in Europe. Must read the history of this castle while you're there. Fascinating. The town itself is a must visit if you're in...More

This castle is reached by a ferry-ride from Konstanz. Parts of it date back to the 7th century! We got an English translation of the Guidebook with the entrance fee and enjoyed wandering and exploring. Throughout the Castle, there are fantastic views of Lake Konstanz...More

I believe this is the longest inhabited castle in Germany and perched on the hill at the top of the old town it's a steep climb up from the harbour area. The ticket office is within the gift shop before the moat bridge entrance. Tickets...More

We toured the castle and amazing artifacts inside from old knight armory and weapons to furniture. The village around and shops were exceptional too.

Interesting castle. Welled preserved. You should spend less than an hour visiting it. It has a nice souvenir store outside the castle.

I can safely say I have never visited a historical site where there was less regard or respect for its maintenance or conservation or its historical items than this Burg. It is a blatant money-spinner, and 100s of tourists are kept flowing through with no...More

I have seen many castles during my travels, but only Meersburg in Germany. That I have seen twice. Since I fell in love with Konstanz 6 years ago, of course, I visited at Meersburg too. Then with my daughter, we went up to the tower,...More

This is a great castle but apart from paying 25,60 euros for entrance for two they expect you to traipse around on a guided tour led on a chain by a guide who only speaks German. So it didn't take us long to discover that,...More
