A short stroll from the town centre. Very relaxing with some lovely views however no lake in the winter, but still worth the trip.

If you enjoy mountain biking or walking you have got to go this lake. It is so beautiful you can hardly believe your eyes. As well as the incredible reflections of the blue mountains on the lake there are cows with dinging bells and pretty horses and wild deer. It is only 15 minutes walk from Schwangau. We didn't allow... More

The Forggensee is quite a nice place for a stroll. especially close to sundown. The way I like it! However the Forggensee offers many other opportunities, such as sailing, boating, water-skiing. I am more interested in taking pictures from close up as well as far away. Going up the Mount Tegelberg, offered me the opportunity to see this lake in... More

We spent a whole morning first to the west shore and then the east. It was so so beautiful and relaxing. We are photo lovers and we took so many pictures there. It is good for sports, family with kids, couples, and of course lovers.

Unexpectedly beautiful spot, worthing stopping for more then a few days to really enjoy. Take time to really explore the lake. The cable car to the top of the mountain is a great way to get a great perspective.

We had 3 days excellent cycling in this area. The trip around the lake is awesome - we did it twice, both ways.

I stay at the LandHotel Guglhupf, I found that there is a even a bigger lake right behind the hotel area. It looks nice and quiet. And there are not many people walking around. That's where i could feel peace of mind. Suggest it.
