Definitely a great castle to see if you're staying in or near Cologne. The original castle is not much to see but ruins, but the Drachenburg Schloss that's rather modern (you see both) is very attractive. Not medieval, but if you like castles, put it...More

The castle did not interest me as much as the incredible location, views, and walk up. We parked in the public parking at bottom and enjoyed the walk up the hill. Great views from the turret.

The views from castle are stunning as are the gardens. The castle is not really old but has some lovely painted ceilings and walls, very Germanic there is a tour round castle it does not take to long but is so interesting.Well worth a visit.

We got the Stadt Bahn to Koenigswinter, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bottom of the Funicular railway. The train + castle entry is €15 per adult. I’d recommend going to the top, seeing the views, and visit the castle on your...More

This castle is nice, espacially the views. A tour around doesn't take long but it gives a pretty good idea of the owners way of life.

We loved this castle! We weren't sure exactly where to park for this since we have a handicap member of our family. The parking area was a bit of a hike to the actual castle so we drove a little higher up and got a...More

I heartily recommend this place. You can enjoy one of the most stunning view of the Rhein from there and the castle is simply gorgeous inside.

Schloss Drachenburg is definitely one attraction that you should not miss during your visit of Bonn or Koenigswinter. It is a castle which was constructed in the late 19th century and was once planned for living of a local rich person (Baron Stephan von Sarter)....More

A well kept castle and beautiful views. Climbing the north tower en look around for the surroundings! You can make a walk in the garden and then travel further with the Drachenfelsbahn to the top.

A nice hike in the area around the palace. The main path leading to the palace is kind of stroller friendly (the road is worn out and bumpy), but we made it with my nephew and niece to the top. The palace itself is beautiful...More

We did a boat trip from Cologne, Koenigswinter is a good destination. It does take about 4 hours to get there by boat but it is very relaxing. Once in Koenigswinter you have a few hours until the boat returns. For us it was... More
