We enjoyed an excursion to the Moselle valley to visit a winery. Seeing the vineyards with their neat rows of vines, stretching up and across the mountains was very interesting, and the rheisling was great too.

We stayed in the Mosel Valley for 2 nights during our 3 week holiday to Germany. We had just come from spending 5 nights in the Rhine Valley and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Mosel Valley. It is definitely quieter than the Rhine...More

The Mosel Valley is the area where some of the best wines in the world are produced. The riverway is incredibly scenic and includes some wonderful scenes of castles. Bernkastel-Kues is a very scenic town with its own fairytale castle. Be prepared to do a...More

We never tire of the Mosel... lovely ambience, great wine and fantastic countryside, dotted with old villages that haven't changed for centuries.... but don't tell others, as it's a hidden treasure!!

What could be nicer? Mile after mile of cycle paths on both sides of this meandering river with boats floating past you gently, steep vineyards on all sides and lovely, old and characterful villages to explore every few kilometres or so. Heaven.

Beautiful region with lost of old, small towns, wineries. Underrated and under visited. I hear its quiet in winter but when we visited in summer, it was absolutely lovely to drive around. Great for cyclists.

Plenty of historical and modern locations to visit. Roads are good. You'll find gas station, restaurant and bed around every corner. Restaurants vary from simple currywurst kiosks to three Michelin star palaces. You can easily spend a week just driving around the towns and tasting...More

I would like to suggest to rent a car from there. That is the best way to go up and down the Mosel Valley. In our case we stayed longer in Trier and move up and down up to Cochem travelling along the Mosel. Midway there are... More

I was on an Avalon Waterways tour and am SO glad I took the excursion to the Moselle Valley. I'm sure they are the same. The scenery is unbelievable!
