It is a lovely pass to drive on, starting from Andermatt. Road is pretty good and easy for driving with many places to make a small stop and enjoy the beautiful views. It snowed the day we drove on this pass that amazingly beautified the...More

There is a cogwheel railway between Disentis and Andermatt. In the fall the railway is usually closed for three weeks for maintenance. One can then cross the Oberalppass via Post Auto. It is a super trip!

I caught the train from Andermatt up to Oberalppass and hiked up to the Pazolastock peak which was quite steep but worth the effort to get the views of the passes and back down into Andermatt. I then carried on to Lake Toma, this was...More

We drove here and then hiked around for the views. Great restaurant called Ustria Alpsu that we had lunch at. Must be a motorbikers dream of a ride. It is also the source of the Rhine. Definitely worth a visit.

Touring on motorbike, and passed through Oberalppass. Stunning mountains, and wonderful fast road down to Andermatt. So near Andermatt that I popped back up after lunch later in the week.

The source of the rhine River is from the hill slopes near this pass. There is a lighthouse from the lower Rhine that has been transported to the pass. The pass can be reached by car or train along the mountain railway.

I wanted to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the bicycle with a 2 wheel adventure. Andermatt is usually the start point for the Eurovelo15 EV15 but as usual I did the reverse and started from London UK cycling through Holland, Germany, France, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland....More

We walked about 15 km round trip via the Pazolastock and then the Tomasee. This is some of the most beautiful scenery I've experienced in Switzerland -- great vistas, still some snow in June, many types of wildflower, and lots of water. And some groundhogs,...More
