Like most of Europe Switzerland has its share of quaint little towns with a cathedral, cobbled pathways and roadside cafes and bistros. This one is no different.

Yverdon's old town is very charming, loads of little hidden shops and cafés with terrasses , really nice to just hang-out. loads of good restaurants too in the neighborhood. Really lively square in the summer, but also in the winter during the Christmas market.

Appreciate the cobblestoned piazza & streets, the old facades & architecture of the buildings while sipping your espresso or tea at the outdoor tables. Busy pedestrian central shopping district of the city.

In the middle of the old town, the place in nice, especially in summer with its various terraces. It is surrounded by the castle and the temple.

This particular building is being restored and is fully under scaffolding so the old town square lacks a bit of old world charm. This city isn't touristy and isn't particularly beautiful, but is does have an excellent museum and is worth a few hours of strolling and shopping...although keep in mind that at least 1/2 of the shops seemed closed... Very nice old square in a charming small swiss town. It has a spa, lots of very good stores where you can find almost anything.

This building right now is currently under renovation. Good thing to do to preserve its beauty. I am just fortunate enough to have had a photo of this place taken last year. :) Once it's done, I suggest you never miss taking a photo from here... :)

If you are visiting Yverdon, you will go through Place Pestalozzi. This is the central place of the old town. On one side you will find the castle which was built around 1260. It contains a museum that you can visit as well as a small local stage "théatre l'Echandole" located in the castle caves and providing some interesting shows.... More
