Highlight of our trip
Aug. 2019 • Family
Take the cable car to the top of Niederhorn with amazing views then half way back down to Vorsass and pick up a Trotti bike, which is a large push scooter with brakes. Take the tar road back down, which splits after a few minutes either straight to Beatenburg Station (fast and steeper for adrenalin junkies) or to Beatenburg village (slow long gentle route).

12km route is demanding and needs more sign posts
Aug. 2018 • Couples
We hired the trotti bikes after having a go at First a few days earlier.
We chose the 12km route but we didn't expect to be pushing the bikes uphill for quite a few sections.
More reassuring signs are needed along the way to let you know you are still on the correct path.
The 6km route being more direct may be all downhill, we took the 12km route through the forest and back along the road but wished we had taken the 6km route.

Amazing, unmissable
Jun. 2018 • Family
I (21) visited with my parents (50s); we have been on the trotti-bikes twice before, when I was 11 and 16, one go on each route (short/long). We much preferred the short route as the long involves pushing the bikes (which are more like scooters) uphill and so did this short route again today.
There are many benches to stop along the route and enjoy the view, and a place to stop for drinks/cakes/food which is amazing too.
You can use the brakes more to take your time on the route or go fast to make it more of a ride!
Unmissable activity for all ages.

Fun way to see the area!

The trip up to the start point is already an amazing experience. The bikes themselves were fantastic fun; after getting our balance for a couple of minutes, we were treated to beautiful views and woodland paths. Wonderful time and would love to do it again!

Great activity

This is a wonderful experience in pristine forest with glorious mountain and lake views - so much better than the other option at First as this is far less populated and very scenic. It's also good exercise and suitable for the whole family as well as being very good value.

Same price whether you do the 6 or 12 km route but the 12 is definately harder. Most people even the unfil people will manage the 6km route as it's all down hill. The brakes are good and the scenery lovely. Different sized bikes for smaller kids and bigger kids and adults too.

One of the most fun outings of our entire trip!

I can't believe this doesn't have more reviews. This was one of the highlights of our entire European trip. First, the cost is reasonable, compared to some of the attractions in Lauterbrunnen, for example, where we spent well over $300 to go to the top of Schilthorn. Our host provided us with Panorama passes, which gave us 50% off, so the entire cost was around $100 for our family of 5, including the trotti bkiking. A funicular took us midway up and then a gondola goes to the top. Lovely, thrilling views along the way, and there were families picnicking at the top. After enjoying that for a time, we hopped the gondola back down, disembarking at the first stop, where the trotti bikes are rented.

This was SO MUCH fun. There are 2 options - a steeper or more gentle ride. We took the latter, but in hindsight, would probably do the steeper next time. We were a little intimidated, but there are several flat to slightly uphill areas that required walking or scootering the trottis for a time and that got a little tiring, especially in the areas that weren't paved. Bring a small backpack with some water and small snacks to take a break at one of the many overlooks. Getting used to the trottis was pretty quick (they're like a cross between a bike and a scooter, no pedals). It was a 10 km coast/scoot down to the return area, which is the top of the funicular, which you then ride back down. There is ample parking at the base.

Definitely give this a go if you are in the area; allow up to 3 hours maybe for the whole experience.

So much fun and beautiful surroundings
Jun. 2016 • Couples
You have two different routes, down to Beatenberg is the fastest and it goes quiet fast.. the one to Waldegg and than Beatenberg is more working, because sometimes the way goes straight instead of all the way down ..
It's so much fun and if you're lucky you see many different animals during the way down.
Definitely worth going down with the trotti-bike instead of the gondel.

Fun and gives the opportunity of a great sightseeing in nature.

On route B, requires some walk, but limited.
