PLEASE NOTE!!! THE BUTTERFLY FARM IN ST MARTIN IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO HURRICANE IRMA!! At the Butterfly Farm you will be escorted by your guide who will lead you through a specially created exhibition area of landscaped gardens. This is the butterflies own lush tropical garden playground! Here you will see hundreds of rare and exotic butterflies fluttering freely around you. The guide will identify different species, point out courtship and mating displays and tell butterfly facts and stories. You can also witness the various stages of the butterfly's life cycle, from butterflies laying their eggs to caterpillars hatching, growing and forming their chrysalis. Ask your guide how to handle the butterflies and caterpillars if you dare! The tour lasts around 15 minutes and you are welcome to stay as long as you like at leisure in the gardens. There is also an extensive selection of butterfly gifts and souvenirs in the shop, or drinks available in the shady cafe.

On the road to a quiet beach there is this nice garden where you can sit and relax seeing the butterflies chase eachother. The entrance fee is a bit steep, USD 15, but follow-up visits are free.

We've done butterflies a few places. This was alright. $30 to get in which seems on the high side. Yes, you can come back for free, but it was kind of small compared to one in Mexico so we didn't return. Lots to look at,...More

A smaller garden then we've seen elsewhere, but still fun to walk around and see the butterlfies. The guided tour was worth it, very educational, and points out many things you miss in plain sight. Wear bright colors, many land right on you.
