I grieve for Big Bear, like people do for loved ones lost. I grieve for past memories that were awesome.

The lake has decreased in size so there is no longer a Swim Beach for people to swim in the lake. The site was closed when I went n labor day weekend 2016

When there is water, this is great. Now, it is closed, but the adjacent park has hand-carried boat and lake shore walking access, picnic and play areas, tennis courts, sports fields and a great view.

It was closed but we found it, it was not where the map shows its towards the lake behind the park on the corner of eureka and eagle but it was closed. We went to the park and walked to the lake but no beach...

The area is beautiful and relaxing. Great for walking and boating. The water level was very low. The weather was perfect.

We went to get a lake view and spend a hour relaxing. Serious beauty. . NOT A SWIM AREA. A lot of people looking for this, but lake is too low. Worth stopping, beauty-wise. Also not enough shade. Worth it for the view.

I know there's more beach than usual due to the drought but you'd never know it other than the lake temperature being a warmer than usual. I'm sure that will change if we... More

Swim Beach usually great, but not so great with the drought. Pray for more rain. My family loves coming here in the Summer.

Apparently when the water level in the lake is down, Swim Beach closes. But, it's not advertised, so make sure you call ahead if you are planning a visit.
