Long planned trips mey end up in dissapointment. Not the case here. Everything we had expected and more. The trip from Bogota takes 6-7 hours depending on the route chosen and luck with truck traffic in the mountain passes. Once in the "Eje Cafetero" the roads are excellent and a delight to the traveller. We stayed in Yacurmana, a hostel... More

Eje Cafetero has many small villages that are full of colorful houses: Marsella, Filandia, Salento, Salamina a.o. Valle de Cocorá is a must for hikers and nature lovers. Hot springs are near to Pereira in either San Vicente or Santa Rosa. From Manizales it is possible to reach the Nevado del Ruïz in a few hours (provided road conditions). Mountains... More

My husband and I have visited growing operations in Kona (Hawaii) and in central Africa (Tanzania and Rwanda). Nonetheless, we found these Colombian highlands to be the most beautiful. The Andes rise darkly in the distance, and closer at hand, the undulating hillsides are densely green with not only Arabica but also plantains, bamboo, coffee walnut, and a headspinning variety... We stayed 4 days in El Eje Cafetero and enjoyed every single minute of our visit. We wished we had stayed longer, may be a week. We stayed at Decameron Panaca, visited Panaca, El Parque del Cafe, and Salento. The views in this area are spectacular. This is a place to enjoy nature. You see colorful birds, iguanas, capybaras. You... More

It takes a few hours to get there but the view is amazing. Peaceful and beautiful! An unique moment. There are different places to go and the one I went to was nice. Coffee was delicious! I can't remember the name but pictures talk by their own.

We stayed only one night in Filandia (a GREAT town, we chose it over Salento to avoid crowds and tourists) at "Hostel Filandia". Our goal was to learn about the coffee tree, cultivation, processing and basically all that has to do with coffee. We are DELIGHTED that we arranged this with Danilo Goméz. He was professional, knowledgeable, personable and someone... More

We visited the coffee hectares in Colombia, and took an amazing tour at Finca Osaca, which the coffee production was an organic type, and the entire process was shown to us on its original way. The lady (Vilma) our tour was very good explaining the coffee production, and took us for a walk to see the entire growth of the... More

This was perhaps the absolute highlight of my recent trip to Colombia. The cafe growing area is a superb and beautiful area of gorgeous landscape, varied with all sorts of wonderful food that the whole world consumes, it was a real pleasure being here and people from Colombia are rightfully proud to have been blessed with such a Paradise on...
