Great day out!

Great day out for walks or cycling. Excellent paths for both. Good visitor centre. Parking, toilets. Take a picnic, great for kids.

Ideal for families, dogs, cyclists and all those who just love the outdoors. There are a variety of walks in and around the forest. Also, good mountain biking trails. A must do in any weather!

Even as my children have grown older this is still a family favourite! There are great walking trails for youngsters, fab playgrounds and good forest walks for older families. We do visit a lot and have found the car park season pass to be very good value. We also enjoy a warm drink at the end of our walk. Food... More

Really lovely place to visit - car park is pay on exit so no guessing how long you'll be. Lovely walks, and a really great cafe. And Go-Ape segways/treetop adventures - brilliant :-)

I wander up here in winter because the forest tracks are shielded from gales and easy to walk on (though can get icy). And I like the coffee and cakes in the cafe. I've just about got my head round the coloured walking trails (after 10 years!). It's confusing unless you stick rigidly to the coloured signs but you can... More

Please think very carefully before you visit if you have a mobility problem. Firstly, the disabled parking is about 150m from the visitor centre, secondly it is a steep uphill push to get to the centre and thirdly they charge you to park there. The cafe is difficult to access as the entrance is littered with bikes and there is... More

Enjoyed fabulous walks through the forest park. Easy to follow marked paths. Moderate tracks are quite steep not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties Good cafe.

You have to drive in to the car park on the site to find the charges. It would be nice if they were displayed at the entrance. They do use ANPR. Accessible Toilet door handle is too high up to use from some wheelchairs.

I've been to Whinlatter Forest Park many times and I'm very impressed with the forest and the facilities. The biking and walking trails are well looked after and great for family's and also for friends. The cafe serves excellent food and drinks and service is very good. I recommend the baguettes as they are very tasty and come with refreshing... More
