Starlight casino has come up with another way to milk its members to save an extra buck.
I am or was a regular at Starlight and spent hours this day at the casino and of course came out a loser which has become quite common at Starlight but the final indignation was when I ordered a pizza upon leaving to take home during Sunday pizza special and was charged full price instead of the special price because I was taking it home . This I believe is a new policy intended to save a few bucks as I have often taken it home during the special and have never run across this policy before.
This might seem a minor incident to some but a harbinger of things to come as Starlight searches for ways to increase profits.
Nibble away Starlight and lose more and more gamblers , it might be more costly to you than the money you save as gamblers will catch on and go elsewhere for their “entertainment”

All of the staff were quite lovely kind and efficient The check-in and check-out were quick. The breakfast was good. The room was acceptable for the price: patched wall in the bathroom. However, I was surprised at the final billing: 3 nights + HST. I had expected the HST but not the two other taxes the 'MAT' tax and the 'property surcharge tax'. As well, my credit card was charged, on the first day of my stay, with the $50.00 refundable damage fee (which has not been refunded as of September 4, 2024). This is a bit shocking that all of the extra charges were not explained at the time of booking. This is a management and advertising shady area that should be addressed.

When checked in I found they didn’t change the bed/pillow cover from last guest. When I mentioned this they didn’t like to agree that but I showed them dirt and hair are all over on bed & pillow.
After long time they did change it as they had shortage of cleaning staff.
One day they apologized for not having enough breakfast for their guest. It clearly shows how awful their management.
They provide me a bill higher than the one I had from online booking confirmation. When I tried to show my online booking confirmation, the ladi in checkout behaved very rudely and not intent to resolve my issue.
I would indeed not recommend anyone to stay there.
Total waste of your money and trip.

My family stayed here as a mid-point stop in Sarnia between Toronto and Chicago. Hotel is perfectly adequate - nothing fancy, quick, easy access to the Blue Water bridge to the U.S. (there is ongoing construction as of August 2024 but we experienced no major delays leaving just after 8:00AM on a Friday morning, though I heard traffic can be really bad. Note that Google Maps will try to route you through Windsor because of the construction, regardless of whether it makes any sense to do so).
Anyway, the room was fine and the hotel was affordable. It's a short walk to the water and is away from the main part of the city, for what that's worth.
Breakfast was pretty standard - scrambled eggs, sausages, hash browns, waffles, usual assortment of mediocre pastries and yoghurt.
One thing that wasn't very good was the fitness center. Though it had a weight bench, there were no actual weights and I think just a couple pieces of cardio equipment.
If I needed to stop in Sarnia again I'd consider this hotel as an adequte option.

Not well kept, or maintained, dated decor, horrible breakfast, terrible coffee, waffles were disgusting, staff not attentive or the friendliest. Toilet was running I asked them to send maintenance and was told “just close the door, you won’t hear it” Eventually after pulling teeth maintenance came to fix the simple problem. Good location, close to waterfront, US bridge, downtown, and restaurants. Not great value at over $450 USD for two nights.

Regardless of COVID restrictions the room should have been cleaned, beds made and used towels removed and replaced with clean towels. I do not reuse wet towels in my home. I should not have to ask for clean items in a paid motel environment..

A MONEY PIT !
Might as well invest your money in swamp land in Death Valley
I WAS (note the word WAS) a regular player here , sometimes I’d win ,sometimes I’d lose ,but enjoyed the time out and the entertainment factor but not anymore
It’s not entertainment now when it seems all you do is pump money into the slots with very little in return. Seems they’re tightening up on their comps too.
A disgruntled loser ? See for yourself

The combination of beautiful surroundings, exceptional value, friendly staff, and spotless rooms makes this hotel feel like a home away from home. The secure on-site parking, guest BBQ options under a covered cabana, and proximity to Sarnia's many attractions add to its unique charm. Having stayed here four times in the past three years, I can confidently say I will be returning again.

Discount for less than 10 hours needed, because I left the place in just four hours and did not take shower even. i also did not have breakfast there so in my views i qualify for the coupon or discount for my trip. I do want to stay later on because I liked the place and my girl friend as well.;

Are there black jack tables and if so are they dealer shuffle or shuffled by a machine after each hand? What are the table minimums on Friday nights?
Written August 30, 2015
My spouse says there were tables there but any details about what the games were or any details is unknown. Sorry, we played the slots only.

What motels/ hotels do you have an affiliation with and are there any deals. Also is there
shuttle service to motel/hotel
Written July 31, 2015
Judy and I both smoke, so we stay at the Harbourfront. I don't believe they have a shuttle service, but it's not far to drive or cab. Rates are a little lower than the big chains.
