One of the most beautiful places we have visited. The trip up to the waterfall is a bit difficult, 1-1,5 hours but worth every minute. There are areas with big rocks and areas with tree roots that need to be climbed, but this is also a new experience. Be sure to have hiking shoes and bottles of water.

The trail to the waterfall is about 45 minutes. There are some steep sections, so ensure you're watching your step.
The waterfall is amazing.

If you on the Transfagarasan Highway you are more than welcomed to visit Bâlea Waterfall.
Very beautiful waterfall with a lot of water even in August.
The views on the way are amazing.
Note that in the end of the trail you will have some rise therefore may be it will be difficult for small children, but the trail is very nice.
How to get there?
Search for “Balea Waterfall visitor center parking” and park a car there.
Then start walking toward Bâlea Waterfall.

One of many waterfalls in Romania, this place is mostly known as a stop on one's way up to Balea Lake. There is a large gondola going up from here, a restaurant and a crafts and local food market in summer days.

Lovely place. It takes about an hour to get to the top of the waterfall. Better to equip yourself with trekking boots and a raincoat with a hood. Even though it was raining we stayed and it was still magnificent. Highly recommended!
