This is the tropical island you've been dreaming of. Awesome! Great snorkeling, too. Of course there is a big campsite or two, and lots of tourist boats, but it's still not crowded. And the snorkeling is great.

The best island destination I have ever been! Sleeping in tents in a super beautiful national park. There is only one food canteen but the food is very good and not expensive either. They have tofu and mushrooms and will make vegetarian variations of every dish on list when asked. Snorkelling safaris are only 150 baht. There is no bars,... More

We've been our to the Surin islands three times over the last 13 years. It's a great place to visit and every time we've had loads of fun snorkeling there. While the coral and fish life is still not back up to the amazing level it was at pre-tsunami and sea temperature changes back in 2004, it did seem to... More

This pricey 1 1/2 hour boat trip, at the cost of $175 Aus dollars, which included transport to and back from our Khao Lak hotel, a bit of reproduction breakfast is really a very well organised cattle truck trip. It's a well oiled machine to organise more than a dozen high powered speed boats carrying 35 persons in each to... More

We stopped here for 90 minutes during a day trip to the Surin Islands. Lunch was touristy - chicken wings and rice - nothing special - and all the boats dock here so there are hundreds of visitors being fed from hot plates. Not bad, but not memorable. The highlight was the beach behind the HQ - truly beautiful. Blue,... More

If you love to snorkeling, this place is your destination. it will take almost 2 hrs by speed boat from the land to islands, which are paradise. I, myself, feel that this place is much better than Similan by scenery and great marine life, as well as much less tourists.

Surin Islands are more remote than the well-known Similan Islands, so tourist volumes are lower and there's a very natural feel. The National Park has a restaurant and tents for camping on the beach - such a beautiful view when you wake up. There are also lots of snorkeling sites with great marine life. You can visit on a snorkeling... More

We travel 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 11) and prefer to sleep all right. So we asked for one of the few bungalows and succeded in getting one.... More
