Excellent large abbey and worth exploring for 3-4 hours. If you go into some of the dark rooms ensure prepared for muddy footware. Fantastic ruins and views if you walk up the 300 steps under the railway line. Kids loved playing on the field and in the ruins. Take a picnic and relax

This monastery that was built in the Middle Ages was a great find. The atmosphere of the old ruins is magnificent! If you are into photography this is a nice place to take some great pictures! This place breaths history. Till June there is an exhibition of the photographer Matthieu Ricard. After I visited the museum I walked 10 km in the woods. There are different marked walks that you can do.

The abbey of Villers is a beautiful ruin of a Cistercian abbey. We visited in winter so it was quiet, an excellent opportunity to take pictures. We walked around for a few hours. You can also hire a audio guide. The site is like a big garden, well maintained. The entrance fee is € 9,00.p.p. It is worth it! There are also lots of events to visit here.

Great visit, a lot of effort was put in to bring you back in time and discover the life of the abbey. The tablet experience is worth the small extra cost.

We really lived this place. It was recommended by a friend and he was spot on. So much of the Abbey remains that you can really feel how it was. It is also really good for wheelchairs as there are lifts and ramps. The only downside for us is that there is a Jonny Halliday photo exhibition around the whole site. So there are 2m high pictures of an ageing rock star in nearly all our photos. So if you aren’t a fan, wait until it finishes because it completely clashes. I cannot imagine what possessed the keepers of such a culturally significant site to allow such a tacky display. For lunch, the Chalet de Foret is a 5 minute walk and was great.
