This place is located on the Main Street of Via Appia that start from Rome, is just on the boundary from Lazio Region and Campania Region, adjacent the Garigliano River. It is worth a visit if you love Roman History, you can see the Roman Via Appia with the original stones, the Theatre, old Roman Building, Mosaics, columns and a... More

First of all the coordinations and location on the map is totally wrong - went to the site by foot from Minturno, according to directions on Tripadvisor - and were disappointed to find absolutely nothing on the spot. You have to continue SS7, Via Appia all the way almost to the river Fiume Carigliano on the border of Lazio /... More

The English language reviews on Trip Advisor for this site were very generous in their opinions I think. The site is important in archeologic terms yes. It is a large site with important pieces. The small museum inside the theater is a wonderful use of the space very dramatic. However none of the information is in any other language besides... More

The ruins of the theater house a small museum with some different pieces than you normally see, not just statues but even large pieces of ships and other objects from the sea. You can walk the Appian Way in front of temple remains and have a seat in the theater. You can feel the history. There is even a German... More

Visited yesterday 5 adults and two children, the site was almost empty, great theatre, but for me the highlight was the remains of the Appian Way adjacent to columns and a brick topped arch.

We visited on a early September morning and the four of us were the only visitors. The amphitheatre with its museum underneath were great, but the section of the Appian way with the arches and nearby buildings were even better. Possibly the best 5 euros we spent on our two weeks in Italy. There is also about 300m of aqueduct... More

While visiting the war cemetery along the road we decided to visit this site as it was suggested by our lovely Hotel Owner. We were the only ones there and it was amazing, although some conservation work has been done there was so much so see. It was not really geared up for English visitors as much or the information... It's not the easiest place to get to if you are not driving - like us - even though it's only 5 kilometeres from Scauri where we were staying. Buses go right past the place but there doesn't appear to be a bus stop there and it's not mentioned on bus timetables, mind you there are not that many buses... More
