Having already visited RAF Cosford (a brilliant place) we came across Tangmere by accident, and what a wonderful place! The docents are just a wonderful bunch, and you basically get a personalized tour! The great stories!

Thank you for your comprehensive post. As you say, those who wish to see aeroplanes in quantity should visit IWM or Hendon - we are more of a military aviation rather than aeroplane museum. We look forward to seeing Benjamin again.

As already advised, only assistance dogs are allowed inside the buildings. All dogs are welcome in the Museum's grounds and picnic area, however.

As has been reported, visitors can use the small grassed picnic area at the front of the Museum without the need to purchase food/drink from the cafeteria
