The 100' Hixon waterfall is accessed by a short and easy walk for all ages. You can get an okay look from the initial bank but, a much better view of the falls from across the water; Careful, it's slippery (crossing not for children). The falls fills multiple swimming holes but, you will have to venture way out to get to the deep one.
There are more, easier swimming holes downstream (June, July, August).

The trail to the chutes is rugged. It had rained when we visited. It was steep, muddy and slippery. Not recommended for children.
The chutes themselves where lovely but, in my opinion not worth the muddy climb. Probably have a different perspective on a sunny day...

Beauitful site it's a great place to check out, Alittle bit of a drive and a little hike. If your close please check it out

Beautiful scenery,close to Hixon .great place for your camera.No pick-nick area ,not a very long trail but still fun
