Our family visited Dempsey Orchards shortly after Thanksgiving. We were interested in picking Honeycrisp apples & were instructed where to pick the apples near the farm. However when we arrived at the area near the farm that was supposed to have the apples the trees were picked clean . The other area was too far away to check out with a 3 year old. We ended up going inside the cafe to purchase Honeycrisp apples. This was not the experience we wanted as the child loves to pick apples. When I arrived inside the cafe the female cashier was not wearing a mask.I questioned her about not wearing a mask and informed her the protocol inside a building was to wear a mask. She basically said people did not have to wear a mask inside. Dempsey website indicated they were following the Covid 19 protocol, clearly they were not. I am not impressed with anyone who does not adhere to the Covid-19 rules. I do not plan on returning to this farm as it seems the staff do not care about the safety of others especially the young children who cannot get a vaccine as of yet. There are too many other u-picks in Nova Scotia that do care about the safety of others.

Every year we go to pick apples. We waited to go in NS this year on a family trip.
We were really disappointed with the experience here. The animals are sweet and friendly, and the apples are delicious.
The service in the store though was unfriendly.
I had to wait at the counter while the girl finished a text to acknowledge us standing there.
She seemed inconvenienced we were there.
It was also unsettling to see most of the people making and packaging food weren’t wearing masks while we are in a fourth wave of a pandemic? Very strange.

Expensive and not ready for the public

Not a u pick experience I would recommend.
Place is not well managed or under going a change in ownership and little experience in dealing with the public.
Once we found the very small peaches we went to pay for them. We were charged $2 each for the fun which included admission and a ride ( where and when)

Do not bother go to another u pick.

I have never been so insulted by a place to tell that I have to pay 2 dollars per person to pick my own cherry's and then for them to overcharge me for the cherry's that I picked myself

Beautiful U-Pick experience, even dog friendly !

We had an amazing visit with Dempsey's Corner Orchards. We picked apples, pumpkins, grapes, beets, potatoes, sunflowers, corn, plums, peaches, strawberries, blueberries and so much more ! the staff were friendly and it was SO nice to walk around with our dog ! what a great place ! would definitely come back !

A little hidden treasure

A pleasure to visit this wonderful family farm while on vacation. The friendly staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed picking the juicy and delicious peaches, you were right the juice will roll down your chin. We also picked plums and blueberries, all were delicious. Our family also enjoyed seeing and interacting with the farm animals, we enjoyed feeding the goats and calves. The homemade goods we purchased were amazing, especially the chewy brownies.
Thank you for making our visit one of our vacation highlights.

It was awesome to be able to go to there farm and walk around and pick apples pears and all other stuff that was inseason. It was nice to see so many families out a enjoying the farm. The staff are very friendly and the lunch we had was delish. Its a great place you can play with rhe animals.

Amazing family visit

Our family visited Dempsey Corner last week where there is something for everyone. My mom and I walked up into the peach orchard and vineyard, where the views are spectacular, overlooking the valley floor. We sampled sweet juicy peaches and picked a basket to take with us while my dad relaxed in the tea room where he was entertained by the energetic staff.

I have visited here 2-3 time once a year to pick apples and pears. We wanted to try picking peaches this year and after calling and listening to what can only be described as a bat$*&! crazy phone message I was able to decipher that they indeed had peaches to pick and plums and apples. When I made the extra drive to get there I was told they do not. Very irritating and an extra hour of driving on an already 2 hour drive! It is a fun hippy dippy place to visit but disorganised. As a family trip if your willing to assume the risk of the unknown then head on other wise chose the more mainstream upick.
