About
The Zambartas story is one of following a dream and the pursuit of a deeply held passion for wine. In 2006, Akis Zambartas established the family winery in the Krasochoria Wine Region of Cyprus. Gifted with enormous passion and a long experience in winemaking, he challenged the established wisdom by focusing on making world class Cypriot wines. The story took off further when Marcos decided to pursue his father as a winemaker and went on to study winemaking in Australia. He came back in 2008, with great dedication and new knowledge. Since then Zambartas has collected some of the most prestigious industry awards and we are delighted that people enjoy our wines all over Cyprus and beyond. We welcome visitors to the winery, which is located in Agios Amvrosios in the Krasochoria Lemesou (Wine villages of Limassol), all year around during week days and weekends!

What a wonderful experience
Aug. 2018 • Friends
JDespite what it says about our location, we actually live about 50 km from the winery. My wife and I and 2 friends took an 'experience 2' tour yesterday at Zambartas.
Adriana our guide is very knowledgeable and a perfect front-of-house host for a winery which is family-run.
The experience began with a tour of the winemaking process, and then moved on to tasting in their beautifully appointed tasting room. We were provided with a selection of wines. I think the votes were more plentiful for the 'less sweet' varieties - but that's just personal choice - varying degrees of excellence. We also met Marcos the owner and his wife Marlene who were so welcoming and enthusiastic about their wines. As you might expect we purchase some wines...and then upgraded them to include a single vineyard White, and an Aged Maratheftiko. All very reasonable for wines of significant quality. It was also good to find out that Zambartas Wines can be purchased in my home area, Paphos, although the overall experience is only available in Agios Amvrosios. 😜Despite initial thoughts, these wines are just not going to last 'till Christmas - so a Diary entry has been made for a return visit ( just wondering whether to return the empties 🤔
A great visit. Wonderful ambiance, and really friendly people👍👍👍
A great Zambartas team. Excellent value for money

We had a fantastic time at the winery. Adriana was a super host and provided a great service and tour. The setting is amazing as is the wine! Spoilt for choice so left with a few boxes!!!

No access!
Jul. 2018 • Friends
Despite signs on the door indicating the winery was open, and obvious signs that people were inside, we were unable to enter this winery. We both knocked on the door and shouted so that those inside would know we were waiting to enter but, after 10-15 mins, we gave up. This was unfortunate as we bought a bottle of Zambartas wine at a restaurant in Pissouri and much enjoyed it. I doubt we shall bother returning to this winery as there are many others that offer a more friendly and welcoming reception.

Dear Kim, We are sorry to hear about this unfortunate case that we did not notice your arrival. We keep our door closed due to a running airconditioning, and we always pay attention to have somebody of our team standby. We are currently in the middle of harvest, and it is possible that all team members were downstairs for moment in the cellar. Our apologies and we hope that we can receive you another day. Kind Regards, on behalf of the hospitality team.

Good wine ruined by poor service
Jul. 2018 • Friends
I start and be fair in my review to mention that we arrived over an hour late for our wine tasting appointment and that the wines were great. This was ruined by the host who was inexperienced in hospitality. We were a group of 6 people talking at the table (not during explanation of the wines) but because there were others we were told to be more quite. The limited space does not accommodate groups which is not our fault. One of our friends went to charge their phone on a plug in the wall and we were even told to remove it to respect the others in the room. No idea what that would have to do with any other guests.
Cyprus wineries have invested a lot in the industry and there are great wineries which I have praise on TripAdvisor.

Dear Peter-Michael, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your visit to our winery, this is the only way to improve ourselves. I would like to apologise on behalf of our hostess and reassure you that measures have already been taken. You are welcome to visit Zambartas Winery again and I will host you personally. Thank you for your understanding. Marcos Zambartas

Beautiful winery
Jul. 2018 • Couples
We recently visited the winery and tasted several wines. Adriana explained the process of wine making through different techniques. We tasted several dry wines white, rose and red with bread and olive oil, they were all very nice. We also met the owner and he was very polite and offered us a free glass of wine of our choice. We purchased 2 bottles, but couldn’t take anymore because of flight restrictions. Unfortunately Cypriot wines may be the most underrated on the planet, I wish there could be more available back in the UK. I highly recommend this beautiful vineyard which is not far from Pissouri. Adrianna and the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating.

We visited Zambartas winery for a tasting session. The staff was very welcoming and the wine was very good! I'm supprised to see that the cyprus wine could be as good as a mix of spanish and frensh wine. Thanks to the winery, be sure to pay this place a visit!

Black’s books’ style of winery
Jun. 2018 • Family
I’m sorry to put some of two dots as valuation. However, there is nothing to say else. In fact we had no opportunity to visit the winery although we’ve been at the closed door literally. It was during working hours (slightly after the nooon), in a mid-week time but no chance. Worth to mention, same happened two times before that in different months. I was told that people in the winery a bit sort of strict to unfriendly degree, but seems it is not an exaggeration. Good bye sign on the exit of winery reads funny after such an empty experience. This is really an exception to other wineries further down the road. They shall think more about being open to people rather think too much of themselves.

We are sorry to hear that you came to our winery and found nobody there. We are indeed open during the day, so I can only imagine that we did not hear the bell ringing. We just keep the door closed because we have the airconditioning working. You are always welcome to come though! It would be best to call us or send an email, so we know to expect you. Our apologies and hope to make up for it one day!

Exquisite boutique winery - family owned with fabulous wines!
May 2018 • Couples
From the moment we entered the large wooden doors, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality for our tour of this impressive family-owned winery. We enjoyed some respite from the sun by sitting at the cool of the marble bar whilst we waited for our tour to begin. Natalia was a wonderful and very knowledgable host, taking us through the process of wine-making at Zambartus as well as family history and ethos, whilst answering all of our many questions! We had hoped to have a walk though the vines but it was not possible as it was 'bottling time' which we managed to see from the viewing platform - it was fascinating to watch! At the end of the tour, we tasted 6 wines: on the stylish outside terrace: 3 white, 1 rose and 2 red - each paired with a local food specialiity... delicious! It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and despite being very busy, the owner Marcus even took the time to greet us (and allow us to purchase a bottle of their special 'xynisteri' off label single viineyard wine - we also bought some others!). Highly recommended and thank you to the Zambartus team for making us feel so welcome. All best wishes, Suzanne & Andre

Dear Suzanne and Andre, thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure and very enjoyable to host you. If you may, please allow the Single vineyard Xynisteri to rest for a few weeks, it will taste even better. Thank you again, Natalia & Marcos

Bijou winery offering excellent wine!
May 2017 • Couples
Visited here on one of the winery's open weekends. We were welcomed by the owners wife, Marleen who was a great host. She talked us through the whole production process from picking the grapes to bottling the wine, it was very interesting & informative.
We finished the tour off by being invited to try all of the wines they produce, 3 whites, 3 reds and a rose if I remember correctly. I believe some of the wines have won awards, and rightly so. We were offered local cheese, meats and breads to eat with the wines.
Marcus (Marleen's husband) joined us towards the end of our visit, again extremely welcoming!
We really enjoyed the visit to Zambartas, we have been drinking their wine since moving to Cyprus a couple of years ago and seeing where it is made and the family that make it just makes it more special.
Definitely worth a visit and currently no charge which I did find surprising!
