What a unique experience to stay in a castle! Our room in the guard house was very clean and quiet with a wood beam ceiling, a comfortable bed, and a large bathroom. The included breakfast was tasty with friendly service. We loved exploring around the little village inside the castle walls and visiting the tower museum. Dinner at the restaurant... More

Visited Vigoleno in the winter, still, the warmth of the medieval city and its small streets and alleys is enough to keep your mind of the cold. Its quite a small village, surrounded by old castle walls. The entrance takes you back in time, with a narrow corridor and tall walls. After entering the gates, you come to the main... More

On the highest point in a beautiful place the castle of vigolino is. The staff is very helpful nice and giving you the feeling that you are the most important person at their hotel. The food is excellent and the decoration of each room is very fine. Great place for relaxing all the year.

This castel is really amazing. Everything here is well preserved and restored and the time seems to be suspended. Take time and come up to Vigoleno!

Vigoleno is a large castle and enclosed village in the heart of Emilio Romagna more or less equidistant from Parma and Piacenza. there is a typical small delicatensent and small cafe-try the local way of drinking wine out of white bowls and savour the views of the unspoilt countryside.

We have visited the tiny fortified village of Vigoleno before, but on this trip we were about to leave at 3PM when we saw someone open the door to the castle, and we were able to visit the interior and the battlements. The view is splendid in all directions from both castle and village, and is a good reason to... More

Loved the village. Didn't like that we couldn't get anything to eat after 2.30pm! Six of us would have provided a boost to the local economy, but at the time we visited the only place available which served food said nothing was available, only drinks. Some snacks would have been nice!

Not only the castle but the whole walled small village beautifully perched atop a hill. This castle, let's say, is the main attraction of this enchanting village not far from Castell'Arquato. We visited only the fortified tower; sometimes one floor of the castle is open to the public but it wasn't the day when we were there because the castle... More

Be sure to visit Vigoleno if you are on holidays in northern Italy. Tiny medieval village perched on a hill, and not as crowded as its neighbour Castell'Arquato. 5star place, not to be missed.

We stayed here for one night. The castle is in good shape. Internal decoration is very natural to old times. Staff is very friendly And did its best to assists. That were almost two people who served the whole castle and change outfit depending on occasion - guest meeting, dinner, breakfast Very nice 360 degrees view from the hill. Very... More
