This is one of those places, way off the regular scene, that is so easily missed. And that is a huge pity because, without doubt, this has to be a star attraction of the south Vendee area. It is an ancient abbey but has been...More

One to definitely go and see. Brilliantly done and everyone enjoyed this trip. Apart from the beautiful surroundings, the interactive exhibitions gives a fascinating glimpse into the life of the Abbey and it's surrounds. Also loved the relaxing leather couches at the final video.

We were very fortunate as we were the only visitors. I imagine on a busy day it would not be so enjoyable as there would not be so much time to linger and absorb all the information. Certainly well worth a visit though I might...More

What a tremendous place to visit. We hired a guide who tolerated our level of French and had an excellent tour of this impressive church and ruin. Well worth the effort to get here.

What a treasure. We were staying nearby and so decided to visit on a Sunday afternoon - needless to say the kids weren't keen on 'another old building' but they were eventually won over by the excellent interactive elements particularly those in the maison d'elinor....More

Ive never seen a historic site presented in such a way... we were worried that an historic site may be boring for the children but the interactive parts of it kept them interested and they loved it

What an amazing experience we had in the abbey. The care and thought that has been given to the new architecture and conservation work of the existing building was just fantastic. The interactive elements would not be out of place in any capital city attraction.
