Small but interesting museum. Didn't like the sign saying assistance with finding accomadation incurred £3 charge. Surely we should encourage people to stay in area. A coffee shop would be a bonus as you could easily spend a day here. Receptionist wasn't the most helpful quite off putting.

I took my granddaughter aged 7 here for an afternoon. She loved it as much as I did. She particularly loved being able to dress up in "older time" clothes, as she put it. The museum is full of local history. I particularly loved the section on the World Wars and the lists of local people from the area who... More

It's more about a bakery was here than a Newry museum. But it's interesting. Plenty of parking. Worth a visit if in the area. A few rooms with political posters etc from BOTH sides of Northern Ireland.

This small museum has a fascinating collection of items relating to local history. The exterior structure of elegant modern design surrounds the historic core of Bagenal's Castle. It is really worth the detour to see the ancient Banquet room that is regularly used for seminars and courses. The exhibits are clearly labelled in both English and Irish. The ground floor has... This is a very interesting building which from the outside does not do it justice. Take a trip inside to see remmants of past days gone by, so much to see in the museum, worth a visit.

On a high hill overlooking the Clanrye River and downtown Newry, Northern Ireland sits a nice old building that used to be McCann's Bakery (Victoria Bakery before that) for decades. I have friends who's deceased father worked there all his life. It was during his time there that a major discovery was made. The back part of the bakery and... More

Visited the museum recently and it was very interesting. They have a good selection of exhibits showing the history of Newry and the local area. Good parking and a cafe. It is a nice way to spend an afternoon.
