Visited on a cold but very sunny day in December. It is £5 to get in and there is a coffee shop at the bottom of the walk to the Castle. People very often get married here as there is a well appointed room in which this can take place.

From the moment you see it driving up the small lane, it commands attention. Built on a high hilltop it is isolated from everything around it and is the quintessential ruined castle. Be warned it's a steep walk up but it is worth every second. Take time to explore he castle and make sure you visit the cave, although you... More

Stunning location - was lucky enough to have a bright sunny November day for my visit. Cold and windy but beautiful! Enjoyed the cave too!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 12) visited the castle in early September. The journey in our campervan was slightly nerve-wracking due to the narrow roads/lanes that led. However - the carpark had more than enough room - and it was an easy walk up to the castle. The admission fee wasn't too expensive - and it... More

High on the hilltop it would have been difficult to get inside this one due to the shear drops down the Cliffside. Unfortunately couldn't get in as it was closed but the external views are breath-taking.

It's a shame my visit was spoilt by the rude owners! You really do get the feeling they think they're kings as they "own" the castle (apparently it was on the deeds by accident when they bought the farm & so they refused to give it back!) They were rude to me 2x about my dog in the space of... More

A lovely walk uphill to get there and once you're there, the views and scenery are absolutely stunning, unbeatable and so worth the short walk. The ruins are well enough intact to allow your imagination to envisage how the castle would have been many years ago. Family run with a lovely cosy tea room serving hot and cold food and... More

Really nice place to visit. Once at the top of the hill where the castle was, the views were stunning. We stopped off at the tea shop for a cuppa on the way out which was really lovely. Most definitely worth a visit.

Perched on the edge of a cliff and offering stunning views, this castle is a little out of the ordinary. Just a short uphill walk from the carpark, walkways make entry to the castle easy. Make sure you take a torch to explore the caves beneath the castle, accessed by tunnel down a stairway on the cliff side. Dramatic location... More
