Take a step back in time at the Gwili Steam Railway, a delightful preserved railway just outside Carmarthen in West Wales. Running steam train services every day of local school holidays and selected days throughout the remainder of the year, this is the perfect trip for all ages to enjoy. Experience a typical country branch line from the 1950s with a stop off at Llwyfan Cerrig Station in a beautiful spot alongside the River Gwili.

How one can fail with a steam railway beats me.However this company has achieved this. A very tired looking venue, which does little to excite the visitor. The staff appeared very disillusioned with the management when spoken to.More

We are very sorry to hear that you feel that our venue is looking tired. Our railway as you may already be aware of, is mainly a volunteer based heritage railway. It therefore relies on the funds it receives from fare paying passengers and donations/grants...More

Even though the train stations are all a little bit tired we had a great day with the children, Easter bunny and free eggs for the little Ines was a nice touch as was the ballon bending, face painting and magician. The mini train was...More

We are removing the catering at Llwyfan as we have no volunteers available to manage it, all catering is supplied at Bronwydd Arms with a future on train tea trolley. Our miniature railway is run by volunteers and there is no charge for this, we...More

Thank you for your review. I can assure you that the response we gave you was not a standard reply. Time and effort was taken in replying to your concerns, I can reiterate: There was colouring and a magician to entertain the children whilst queuing....More

This was a really enjoyable experience. The staff, who I assume are giving up their time to do this were without exception helpful and polite. The gifts that Santa gave to my awestruck 2 and 1 year old grandsons were of a decent quality. I...More

A wonderful afternoon out. Our 2 year old loved it. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a larger shelter to wait for the trains in the rain. Very welcoming staff and great service.
