I visited Lissan House in 2005 when it was occupied by the last Staples family member to live there.I had the honour of sleeping in Sit Robert's room! I visited again in 2006. We revisited Lissan House for the first time in many years having first been there on business in 1971. A most interesting and enjoyable day with a warm welcome from the volunteers, who run this community trust. After a very pleasant visit to the tea room we had a totally brilliant tour with Kyle and then Tony. Such a refreshing... More

A grand old important house ( mainly Jacobean ) set in the foothills of the Sperrins which, thanks to the efforts of the Lissan House Trust is being restored and preserved .A huge task but it's good that there is the interest and will to keep this part of Tyrone's history from going to ruin. We visited for a coffee... More
