Northern Ireland's most popular tourist destination: this large stretch of staircase-shaped rocks is the result of cooled lava from volcanic eruptions that took place over 65 million years ago.

We were not disappointed by our visit to the Giants Causeway. The visitor centre is great with very helpful staff. There is a bus down to the Causeway but we walked and used the audio tour which was informative and the children enjoyed it.

nature wonder - heaven for geologist and nature/ocean lover. Photographer heaven too to try out their ND filter/apps etc. If you have the energy to walk, then walk slowly to the basalt columns while listening to the history and the sounds of the waves.

Avoid the weekends - usually full of tourists and buses full of kids. Great views from everywhere. Don't let the California hippy/environmentalists go here - they will protest to keep people from walking on the rocks. Enjoy it while it is open to explore.
