I am outraged by the whole experience at Red House B&B. We booked it via the Activity Superstore as one of their 'unique places to stay'. When we arrived it was not at all clear as to why this would be listed as a unique place to stay as the accommodation is a house, lived in by the host, who... More

Dear Stacey, I am genuinely very sorry that you weren’t happy with the room, and I do agree that it was indeed the coldest night of the season so far. However, we are only a Bed & Breakfast establishment and visitors are usually out and about all day in the Peak District and only return to sleep in the room... More

The stables and exhibition were very interesting but the highlight of our visit was the carriage ride. We had an hour's carriage ride, drawn by two magnificent greys, going gently along country lanes. The scenery was superb and the whole experience was a taste of days gone by when the pace of life was slower. It was also a great... More

If you are fortunate enough to visit the Peaks District, add this working farm / carriage museum to your list. The carriages are amazing in their variety and use. If you have the time, sign up for a coach ride.

When researching this attraction we saw that you could book a carriage ride. What a wonderful experience to be drawn by two great grey horses. The ride was only for half an hour officially but they were generous with their time. The countryside was delightful and we particularly enjoyed the ride through Whitworth Park. The museum contains a coach used... More

Very interesting, reading all the history and stories of the carriage's and all the marvellous photograph's going back years, a small but fascinating museum. We did not have time for a carriage ride, but watched the open cart and 2 beautiful greys come back into the yard. We had a 7 and 10 yr old with us and they absolutely... More

We had phoned to book a... More

What a wonderful experience. Gorgeous weather, gorgeous horses, very interesting museum and the carriage ride out into the countryside around Darley Dale was the icing on the cake. Felt like we stepped back in time and loved every minute

We weren't expecting too much from this small museum when we arrived on a lovely sunny morning in June. But it was wonderful. There were many beautiful carriages to see and the owner Caroline told us stories about when she, as child used to go on a magical journey from Matlock to Spalding, Lincolnshire, about 82 miles) with the stage...
