Lovely sunny afternoon spent exploring the ponds, waterfalls and mill ruins, so pretty. Not for those with walking difficulty or prams. Steep steps & uneven under foot. Free parking no other facilities though. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a stunning little place managed by the Arkwright Society and was once a hive of industrial Mills tucked away in a small valley near Matlock. The waterfall is stunning and compact and equals in wow factor to many of the Alpine waterfalls I...More

Found this by accident when it walking. Absolutely amazing walk. Had a dip in the waterfall as it was a hit day. So take a towel. I would pay money to spend the day here. Absolute must visit.

Historically interesting site in beautiful surroundings. Information boards help understanding of this important site. Footpaths are being slowly upgraded thanks to the hard work of local volunteers. Steep areas so care required - not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs at the moment. Such a pity...More

Had a fabulous walk around this area and thoroughly enjoyed. Yes there are no toilets, cafes or much parking but absolutely wonderful surroundings. We walked to it so parking was not a problem. All three children aged 5-9 enjoyed it.

Hi you will need to park near the school. Do not park outside pond cottages, the residents are very nasty... I think that comes from I'll informed visitors parking in the residents parking only places. And also from folk not... More

If you park by the school and follow the river until you want to turn around and come back you will be able to retrace steps following the river back upstream.

There isn't a car park. It isn't an attractionh, it's a steep wooded valley. You'll need to park somewhere else, probably by the school at the top and walk. Take proper walking boots too.
