Just by the side of the town park is THE GARDEN OF EUROPE. It has trees and shrubs from all European countries. Ther is the bust of Schiller, a gift to Listowel from the German people. Carved in stone is a verse from Shiller's famous composition, Ode to Joy. The garden contains Ireland's only public monument to the memory of... More

We had a lovely walk around the garden of Europe. The main thing we thought about it was "why". Don't get me wrong, the gardens are lovely and have interesting sculptures and memorials, but Listowel is not what one thinks of when imagining Europe. Worth a visit for the novelty alone

The Garden of Europe, is a pleasant wee spot. The yellow roses in the centre are beautiful and so fragrant, besides those flowers the garden mainly had shrubbery so lacked colour and contrast. The sculptures are lovely and the garden ties in nicely with the river walk and meadowlands and forest beside it.

Located in a corner off the town park and close to the River Feale the garden of Europe is composed of 12 sections representing the twelve countries that initially composed the EU. This garden is hidden inside the town park. It is a nice peaceful spot and has a fine John B. Keane memorial and a memorial to the holocaust. Nicely laid out and maintained, it's worth a visit. The park itself is just short of a mile to walk around and takes in the car park near the town, a kids... More

this is a beautiful place to walk around, it is totally unexpected and hidden away inside the public park. Worth a visit if you are in the Listowel area.

This is a lovely space right in the centre of town but far from the hustle and bustle. A fabulous town park and not to be missed.

I love this great space in the town park, lots of benches to sit on, take in the sun and appreciate the power of people. This place was the town dump, of course it's very humble beginnings are no where in sight, but in it's place are rose bushes, mature shrubs and trees. Include this on your itinerary when coming... Had a little run along the river and came across this place. There's some nice things to look at in here and because not many people seem to go, it looks like a lovely place to while away a couple of hours.
