Nestled in a particularly peaceful and quiet spot just off the main street of Kenmare this ancient bridge bears no relation to THAT Cromwell, predating him by an few hundred years. Nonetheless its an atmospheric spot and a great photo opportunity. Amazing how well constructed it must have been to last this long and still be capable of functioning as... More

Easily found, pretty and quaint. Its around 800 years old, the name Cromwell doesnt refer to Oliver Cromwell, but has morphed into that from an old Gaelic name. it has a very nice setting, its a free attraction, and its amazing to think that it still stands after so many centuries. i wonder how many of our newer bridges will... This bridge was right behind where we stayed at Cromwell Court. The kids loved scrambling up and down it. It was a really neat old bridge with lots of history.

This takes 2 minutes to see, but is a nice cute old bridge that is worth stopping to see. Nothing to do with Oliver Cromwell as you'll find out when you read the sign, but still fun to see anyway.

This little stone bridge has been here since the 11th century, which, to me, is simply amazing. It is easy to find, and will only take 5-10 minutes of your time. And if you are brave enough, you can still use it to cross over the river!

This town had lots of stones, and the bridge was built with stones and arched very interesting. Kind of hard to climb on, but its more for looks. The town was a good place to roam around with interesting buildings.
