This is a wonderful Irish pub in Dingle up the hill away from the water. There are lots of little shops nearby and a church across the street, along with little restaurants. We stopped in to have a pint or two before lunch. This is an old style Irish pub with lots of drink choices and very friendly bartenders. There is limited seating at the bar, but there are places to sit inside. We really enjoyed talking with the bartenders to find out about the local things to do. Will definitely come back here.

The inside of this pub is gorgeous and the outdoor space in the back is amazing as well. Finn, the barman, was welcoming, and I especially enjoyed the sweet furbaby attention from Maggie. Can’t wait to return to Dingle and will of course stop into Dick Mack’s!

What a great find tucked away in an assuming little building. There are thousands of pubs throughout Ireland and many of them are wonderful. Dick Mack’s is a little different. It is the one you will tell all your friends about when you get home. I absolutely loved the place.

100% ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Aaron is so talented. He made my husband & I a belt each and the attention to detail made me appreciate his craft on a different level. Who knew one could have a custom belt made & have a drink while you wait. Thank you so much to the bartender who put up with us & to Aaron for the most beautiful belt I will ever own. Slainte!!

Lovely pub and outdoor area. Some really good musicians started to play a few tunes outside and we loved it. However the bar man was seriously grumpy and unfriendly. That put us off returning later that evening.

We had been looking for someplace to listen to some traditional Irish music only to run into constant renditions of "Country Roads". A couple on holiday that we had met in another restaurant/pub in Dingle recommended we check this place out. So glad we did!
The decor is a little off-putting. As was the tradition many years ago, local businesses ofttimes supplemented their income by also putting in a bar. Dick Mack's is such a place. It must have been a shoe store/cobbler at one time because the walls were covered with old shoes, lasts and tools fo the trade. There are also lots of little cubbyholes if you are looking for a quieter place from the main room.
We fell in with some guys on holiday who had sailed up from Waterford and had the best time talking and drinking. Well, they talked and we drank. The stories these guys told kept us in stitches and we had a great laugh with "Father Ted" references (my name is Ted).
All in all, it was our best night in Dingle and Dick Mack's will forever be a bookmark in our travels.

Bartender was super friendly. I asked for an Irish coffee but they don't have coffee, he suggested a hot Irish whiskey, which I totally enjoyed. We were the only patrons in the bar as it was mid afternoon. He told us how he appreciated American tourism as the economy is becoming uncertain. I looked up at their bar and it is covered with all Anti- American paraphernalia. Shocked that he can tell me he appreciates the American tourism all while portraying negativity against our President. You need to realize the majority of Americans love our President, we voted for him and he won. Our economy is blooming which is why you are getting tourists from America. If you are an American tourist you may not feel welcome here, take your business elsewhere.

Im from Kerry but living in Dublin most of my life. My brothers golf and hit Dingle all the time. Went with a friend for a break and hit Dick Macs on advice from the lads. Was v excited to show my carlow friend wonderful kerry hospitality. Dick Macs was not to place to do it. Pair of male posers behind the bar were unfriendly and disinterested. We met some lovely locals in there and had a bit of craic with them alright but thats par for the course. Really dissapointed with the lack lustre lads behind bar. The girl bar worker was lovely and couldnt be more friendly though. Went to Foxy Johns and had much better night. Far more welcoming team working there. Maybe it was a bad day but something very off in Dick Macs. Other people we met experienced the same. a local shop owner we talked to said 'they had notions' when we asked for a bit of insight 😅. in summary you might enjoy Dick Macs but it will be because of the locals you meet

Worth the hype and worth the walk to find in downtown Dingle. Very small Pub, but entire WALL of Irish whiskey's. Bartender made some very good recommendations, small lively crowd and locally brewed beers on tap (plus your normals like Guinness etc). really enjoyed it for a an hour or two talking with the locals as well as fellow travelers. Check it out and add it to your pub crawl list. :)

I'd had a few drinks and I told the big lad behind the bar his calves looked small. He took it very well and only asked me to leave after I stood on the bar and proclaimed that "I'm the real King of Dingle". 10/10 whiskey selection, they let me back in the next day when I apologised, but I was barred again after I stole the lamb that tethered up out the back (he's doing very well btw, I called him Oscar).

Will be in Dingle in February. What's the chance there will be live music then?

Hi
Wondering if you are dog friendly?
Written January 12, 2019
I don't think that they would notice if you had a dog, cat or llama. It's not the kind of place that has any rules....

How many are you? We rented airbnb that had lots of room for two to four. Great location and gives lots of flexibility. Harbour View, Elizabeth was excellent and it was fairly priced.

Hello, what would the hours of operation for Dick Mack be on a Sunday in July? Hoping for an afternoon pint.
Written May 23, 2016
An afternoon pint is always welcome, as are many more to engage in good conversation and craic. Dick Mack's is open at 11:00am and stays open till there's reason to close. In July, I have witnessed the hours of operation to go well past the midnight hour. I would also recommend Foxy John's Hardware it is only around the corner from Dick Mack's. The two go together. Enjoy, it's wonderful!
