The tour was not very good, the inside of the castle was not nice and cracked walls everywhere. I felt like all the decor was just placed all around the rooms randomly. They even said in the tour that everything was sold off at some point so the stuff in the rooms were not really old like the castle. Would... More

The castle was nice and the staff was extremely courteous. I did get a little bored on the tour though. Just wasn't my thing.

As the subject heading says, decent place to visit. To be honest, I've been to castles that I prefer. The tours can be very crowded. On the plus side, it is close to Dublin and has beautiful grounds and gardens. There is a hot house that is a butterfly habitat.

Taking the brief but informative castle tour will satisfy partisans of Medieval architecture and Georgian period portraiture. Step back 800 years to see where families lived and slept to be safe from warring Irish chieftains, and follow the Anglo-Irish Talbot family dynasty to the end of their residency in 1973. Be sure to see Pock's door in the Great Hall,... More

The park, which is at a walking distance from the village and sea, is worth passing an afternoon or a day of outside activities

We took the last tour of the castle of the day. Our guide Maria was funny, knowledgable and a very interesting story teller. We left with a genuine respect for the Talbot family and what they did for Malahide village and the people of Tasmania who lived near their estate there too. Not to mention the people of Ireland by... More

Stumbled upon the castle on a suggested visit to Malahide from a cabbie. The castle itself is about at 20 minute walk from the DART station, but there is a little train that operates from the castle during working hours. Malahide itself is about a thirty minute DART ride from the Connolly DART station in Dublin. The castle and grounds... More

This tour and castle was my favorite thing from the week long trip. I hope I don't forget it for years to come. We lucked out and got Aiden as our tour guide. I think he frustrates the other tour guides because he likes to talk. The tour is supposed to take 45 minutes but ours took 1 hour 15... More

Interesting story of the family and history of the castle, definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to visit the gardens and look at the old abbey
