While on a few days holiday in Ballycotton I attended a half day cookery demonstration and was in luck as it was a course of easy entertaining. Although I am a very proficient cook and have probably got every book published out of Ballymaloe and have seen every TV programme I still learned a few tricks and enjoyed the course... More

I have just completed the 2.5 day course 'Cooking for friends and family with Rachel Allen'. It was a Christmas gift from my wife.. one of those 'win /win' gifts. Where I was to have fun learning new (basic) skills and my wife was to benefit from my new found culinary expertise! Well, I definitely won! I had a great... More

I got this as a Christmas present and was delighted with the opportunity to learn more about gluten free cooking. What I didn't expect was an afternoon's entertainment. This was very professionally presented but was interesting, fun and very entertaining - I will be going back

Excellent day.. Daring was an incredibly engaging, informative and confident host. The guest chef for our day Maunaka was fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience from the warm welcome, great demonstrations and wonderful tasty lunch. Feel really inspired to recreate the dishes we observed today. In fact the only let down was not being able to do any hands... More

A wonderful location, wonderful food, wonderful people. The school has an amazing garden, farm and local fishermen by the sea. It was so much fun and put me in contact with so many wonderful restaurants and catering companies that I would have otherwise not been able to go and work with. Highly recommended and worth the money.

We took a half day cooking class and in addition to learning to much, we had a gorgeous and delicious lunch, toured the grounds, shopped at the very reasonably priced store and had our cookbooks signed by the very approachable Darina Allen. Everyone was friendly, helpful and genuionly interested in us having a rewarding experience. I highly recommend it for... More

We have attended cooking classes in several countries, but this was not what we expected. We understood this would not be a hands on cooking class, but this was a real disappointment and waste of money. We arrived to the cooking school on time. We were greeted at the desk. The attendant gave copies of the recipes and rushed us... More

Thousands come here to learn cooking skills, and if you aren't going quite that far you can still visit the school. You can observe demonstrations if you like, or you can just relax in the gorgeous gardens which extend over acres, each dedicated to a different area - from herbs to soft fruit to flowers. The cafe at the entrance... More

Great place to go for a pizza and a walk on the gardens. Pizzas are crunchy and tasty, done with the vegetables they grow in there. There is also a shop were you can buy products from the garden and cookery stuff. The gardens are big and very well maintained, lots of stuff to smell and try to guess what... More

I have just returned from an amazing week at the school. It's an intense week. I should probably have grasped that given the name of the course is 'intensive'! It's full on with practical cooking in the morning followed by demonstrations in the afternoon. We had Rory O'Connell and Rachel Allen who were both marvellous. Rory was on hand to... More
