Among the hills of the Clifden bay the sky road offers great views of the Ocean route. Beautiful sites to see on a sunny day, driving, walking or - even better - cycling.

Follow the signs in the town to the start of the road and then easy to follow. Spectacular views and there are places to pull over as well as a major look out 1/2 way. Takes about 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic and stopping time....More

Part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Beautiful views similar to California's Highway One. Typical narrow Irish road...look out for sheep.

The f=drive is very scenic! Narrow roads but we faired well. We took lots of pictures and took our time. Very enjoyable and it is a must see.

Worth the drive to Clifden to take this drive. I would say the drive is similar to the most beautiful parts of the Dingle peninsula, but with less traffic and fewer tourists. You might also want to drive down to Roundstone, a charming little village...More

Just leaving Clifden start going up and up and up ... The view from the top is well worth it with a perfect parking spot for pictures. Just keep going down the other side of this tiny road for a few more miles of lovely...More

The time tables for 2017 put sunset around 8:14pm on September 1 and 7:08pm by the end of the month.

Yes it is possible to cycle if you have the energy in your legs for steep climbs and are not afraid of steep downhills. Clifden is a good base for Connemara

I would get a B&B or Hotel in Clifden if you are going car-less as the public transit is hit or miss and the distance don't look bad on maps but roads are small, curvy and in season crowded. And I second the comment above... More
