I could see the place but could not find the path to get down to the castle. This was unfortunate since it looked pretty cool from the cliff above. It was also not on the map providing on places to visit.

The Castle was very easy to find so don't be dismayed by the earlier reviews. The walk out to the Castle was half the fun...wild blackberries were abundant. The breeze off the ocean just enhanced the physical beauty en route. Sheep, horses and cows...oh my!...More

This is off the Sky Road and you can't see it from the road. Then you walk down a dirt rocky road which takes about 15 minutes. But along the way there are sheep, horses and sometimes cow. The castle is a wonderful ruins.

Lovely peaceful setting outside Clifden, worth parking near the Boardwalk cafe on the coast and walking up to the Castle then have a break at the cafe

Definite ruin, but almost all the outside walls remain. Worth the long, winding walk down the dirt road to get to the ruins.

The sun came out just as we headed out of Clifden to visit the castle. Our sat nav wasn’t very helpful - it told us we had reached our destination when we were on the road at a point close to the castle as the...More

This hidden way castle was a treasure trove and photographers delight. We had the whole place to our selves for about an hour and took gobs of phots and imagined what life might have been like back in the day. Don't miss this!

Just a short walk from Sky Road. One of the many sights to see. Very beautiful spot. The countryside and sheep make for great pictures.

There's not much of a car park; basically it's just a triangular patch that you pull into.
