Makes you wonder: why did we have to spend time, money and energy on its construction. Must always have been too large for the congregation. Worth a look inside but its site -on a Cobh hill with views directly out to Roches Point, is also a plus.

This one of the best hikes you will ever take. This a beautiful Cathedral and I still wonder how they got the building materials to the location. Also a great view of the bay from the church.

We really enjoyed this church. The interior was ornate and interesting. The setting near the harbor is very picturesque. We were very glad we stopped.

The Cathedral itself is beautiful too, old and stately but beautifully maintained. Ornate and imposing from without, atmospheric and intriguing inside. Well worth a visit when... More

Mainly early Victorian, the cathedral has some impressive architecture and carving. From the coast road/centre of town, it is quite a climb up to the cathedral, but you get good views over the rooftops across the bay, when you arrive.
