This self guided tour was a nice stop in Yeats Country. The castle is having some renovations done so parts were not open during my visit. However I enjoyed the tour, movie and walk around a the grounds.

We arrrived just in time for an informative 50 minute tour of the castle. The tour covered the history of the castle and its inhabitants but it also dealt with vernacular architecture - local cottage styles and the construction of thatched roofs. Entrance fee was €2 instead of the usual €4 because the battlements are currently closed off for maintenance... More

Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady who was more than accommodating in directing us around the grounds and providing helpful information for us to make the most of our tour. It was a pleasant surprise to us that Wednesday's were free admission. The castle itself is quaint, nice location but a little disappointing that much of... More

Visited on Heritage Sunday so entrance was free which was an added bonus, although if we had gone at any other time the fee is only 2 euro. The staff were so friendly & helpful. The views over Lough Gill were lovely, well worth a visit.

Parker's castle is a short drive from Sligo in Co. leitrim and well worth a visit . There is a nominal entrance fee, and you have the choice of a guided or DIY tour. We chose the latter as we wanted to wander and get a feel for the place. It was originally the home of a Sir Brian O... More

We were greeted by the lovely staff, they were extremely helpful and welcoming the entire time. We did the self tour, where the children had to find certain items which they had great fun in doing. We also watched the 20 minute information show which was very interesting and inspiring.

We were staying near Parke's Castle and spent some time here one morning. It is absolutely beautifully restored, we had a lovely informative guide and she took us through the castle and into detail about the castle and restoration. We then wandered around the small courtyard and little garden beside the lake. It's not expensive to get it and it's... More

Parke's Castle is an imposing Plantation House situated on the shores of the beautiful Lough Gill. We enjoyed a fascinating tour which not only took in the history of the house, it's people and the surrounding area but we were also given a short thatching demonstration. A very knowledgeable guide with an obvious love of history who seems to enjoy... More

Nice period castle. Good mix of outdoor and indoor attractions. Staff very very friendly and only 8 euro entry for a family of 4! The treasure hunt game was a great way to keep the kids entertained. Well worth a visit if you are in the sligo/leitrim area
